Jake Long is the leading vote getter at tackle amongst fans. The coaches and players also get to vote, with the fans vote counting for 1/3 of the total.

Do you think he has enough of the respect and admiration of the players and coaches, to make the pro-bowl?

I thnk so even on a bad team,(I'm not saying we're a bad team,I'm answering the question). Fans only tend to see 3 hour block when we're watching the game.Coaches and players are watching that game footage, over, and over, and over throughout the week....They see every little detail,"Man look at how he did this,or that"

I think Jake has done a Pro Bowl caliber job at LT, and should be going to Hawaii. I think the coaches and players recognize what Jake does out there.

I think he'll make it, if for no other reason that there aren't that many big name O-linemen in the AFC.

How are linemen "supposed" to be voted to the Pro Bowl? # of sacks allowed? # of rushing yards gained?

^^^ Nah, Joe... O-linemen get graded on every single play. Hand placement, holding the block, transferring defenders along the line and anchoring in pass defense, forward push on running plays...lots of things go into grading O-linemen.

edited to add: Here is a reference to a lineman's grade. In this case it is Michael "The Blind Side" Oher being graded out of high school:

"As a senior, the first-team All-South selection by Fox Sports and the Orlando Sentinel was credited with 130 knockdown blocks, grading over 90% for blocking consistency, as he did not allow a quarterback sack. As a junior, he posted 83 knockdowns and graded 85%, helping lead Briarcrest to a 10-3 record and 2004 state championship.
