If I were Pats fan I would be thrilled. Brady got the year off of injury out of the way and now it's back to re-tooling the D maybe and they will be right back and alot better next year.

I'd love to say that my team had a horrible 10-6 year..... I bet you guys would too.

In the past 6 years the Patriots have ended the season in all 6 possible ways:

Missed the playoffs (2008)
Lost wild card weekend (2009)
lost division weekend (2005)
lost the championship game (2006)
lost the superbowl(2007)
won the superbowl (2004)

Time to start the cycle anew.

The Pats won the division and lost their most productive offensive player the week before the playoffs.  I don't think they deserve any grief.

I seem to recall a certain franchise in Southern Florida that would always finish 11-5, 12-4 or somewhere in that area.  They would march into the playoffs behind a cannon armed QB and, yet, reached the Super Bowl one time in that QBs career.  90% of this (+) was done in an era of no salary cap as well.  Miami was the definition of "built for show, built for go." 

What the Pats have done since 2001 is nothing short of staggering.  This season they had zero running game, no pass rush, a lack luster defensive secondary and middle of the pack special teams play.  Yet they still found a way to win more than they lost and ran into a buzz saw yesterday.

I'm thinking that no fan of the Dolphins should be flappin' at the gums to a Pats fan just yet, one and done not withstanding.

The problem yesterday was the defense couldn't stop the Ravens' running game, and the Baltimore defense was stifling.  No Wes Welker would have done anything to stop Baltimore from scoring 21 points in the first quarter.

Welker would have done nothing to stop Baltimore, but I doubt Brady would have thrown 3 ints if he had his dump off guy to toss the ball any time he needed to. 

Not saying the Patriots would have won if Welker was healthy but he does make a huge impact on the NE offense.  NE doesn't win by shutting down the other teams offense, they win by scoring a ton a points.  NEP problem yesterday wasn't that the Ravens scored 33 points.  The problem was the Pats didn't score 34 points.

Welker would've made a huge difference.  You just don't take the guy with the most catches in the NFL off the team without an impact.  Turnovers and Brady being uncomfortable were the difference makers and I think Welker makes it a much easier day for Brady.

I think it was more of the offensive play calling that lost them the game.  When you have Brady and Moss you shouldnt lose a game by 33 points. The playcalling has been suspect this year.

I don't understand why people care about how much somebody loses by.   A loss is a loss whether it is by 50 or 1 point.

Because a 1 point loss usually means the teams were equal and time just ran out while a 50 point loss means one team got absolutely obliterated.
