Indy players are sitting at home hoping the Jets get rid of the Chargers for them.

I hate it when players or fans claim "they didn't win it, we lost it".  However, in this game I think it's safe to say:  The Jets didn't win it, the Chargers lost it.

How the hell do you miss 3 field goals, accumulate all those penalties, suffer through so many dropped passes and still manage to barely lose?  Only a Norv Turner team.  What a bunch of undisciplined jaggoffs!  I guess there's one of those teams every year.  One team that is a powerhouse thoughout the season only to get knocked off by a ridiculously lucky/mediocre team in the first game of the postseason.

Congrats Indy, I'm sure the Jets fans aren't the only ones celebrating tonight.

I can't blame someone for missing a 50+ yard FG, but the other two are inexcusable.  The pick Rivers threw right to one of the Jets is also inexcusable.  They all played terribly.

There's no way that the football gods will let the Jets play the Superbowl in Miami.

Having watched the whole game, and it now being the middle of the 3rd quarter with the Jets driving - I can tell they are going to win this game.  What a travesty :-(

I don't get what the travesty is

No.  They said that of Palin.  And continue to do so.

/end

The travesty that the hated asshole Jets led by their asshole coach Rex Ryan are headed to the AFC championship game with an incredibly mediocre team.  I mean shit, WE beat them twice!!!

no , they were scared of palin. she was a threat to the "change" obama was promising. which was silly, because last time i checked , McCain , not palin, was running against obama for president.  as for people saying obama would never win........ yes....... they did.  nobody thought  it would actually happen. although they hoped it would. i'm not being  pro or anti-anything. just telling it like it is.

i hate the jets more than any team, and i would have totally agreed with you before last night, but after pulling off two unlikely victories in hostile territory, against supposed better teams, i think its safe to say they are not so mediocre. once is a fluke , maybe.  but 3  unlikely wins in a row? if they get past indy, i don't see them losing the super bowl.  they have some fire going, and if they pull it off, God bless. sucks, but gotta give credit where its due.

The original quote was "the _______ GODS would not allow such a thing"

You said, "everyone said that about Obama".

I said NO! since he got CONVINCINGLY voted in and the whole time since his win in the primaries was pretty much predicted to win.  In fact, I threw in Palin because that's exactly what happened.  Another wing-nut religious lunatic with an old man between her and the highest office.  Therefore, the whole world thought what you said except you had the person wrong.

I also disagree with you on the Jets not being mediocre.  They are.  I didn't watch the Cincy game but I take it missed field goals and poor play were a factor for the Bengals.  Same with the Chargers.  I don't buy for one second it was the Jets' defense that suffocated the potent Chargers offense.  3 missed field goals (yes one was 50+ yards like STL pointed out) a shit load of penalties, dropped passes and terrible play calling on the Chargers part is the reason the Jets are advancing.  The Baltimore Ravens are a better team than the Jets.  I mean, the Chargers moved the ball at will in the beginning only to shoot themselves in the foot with a bad snap or penalty to force a 3rd and long.  New York will not see those lucky bounces against a disciplined Indy team.  I'm predicting a blowout.
