I'm not real sure if people realize that the Winter Olympics are next month...Our girl at the front desk,is ALL IN,all excited about the winter Olympics..She's Changed her Desktop Wallpaper to the Winter Olympics logo...I walked into the office,I saw part of the logo, and asked her what it was...She talked my ear off...Almost to the point of scaring the shit out of me....(I debated if I felt safer in my office, or back in the jail talking with rapist, thieves and murders)

I admit, I Last winter Olympics I got into a little bit of the hockey (I liked it better than NHL), and I like to see the Bobsled,Luge stuff....All the stuff the front office girl Loves,is what I hate...like 50 hours of Ice dancing,Skating with ribbons,Skating with pom poms,Pairs skating, Pairs with Pom Poms, It's all figure skating with different names...Unless I watch at like 2 am...

The other thing is they tend to Show reruns on the other networks.....

I love the Olympics, summer, winter, anything!  C'mon Lil B, how about short track speed skating?  Lots of pile ups there!

I love the Winter Olympics just as much. I will be catching the hockey, skiing, bobsled & luge, curling, & speed skating coverages. I'm with you about the figure skating though. Just not my thing.

Parts of the olympics yes.  The remainder where we get 5000 commercials and Bob Costas going on and on and other sports that aren't Hockey or Speed Skating.  Outside of that I couldn't care less.

I am three hours south of them and we cannot get any tickets or rooms that are not priced into the stratosphere.

I prefer the summer to the winter, but love them both. Skiing, bobsled, ice skating, speed skating, hockey.... lots of good stuff coming our way

My favorite moments in sports.....

1. USA 1980 hockey team defeating Russia
2. USA 1980 hockey team defeating Finland
3. Patriots winning the 2001 SB.

So 2 out 3 of my favorite sport moments have been in the winter Olympics.

And while nothing they have done would make the top 20 list for greatest sports, one of the few times I will root for a non-USA team/competitor over a USA one is the Jamaican Bobsled team.

Olympics also offer an opportunity to see sports I don't regularly follow like kids sledding oops I mean luge or curling.  I could live without the ice dancing stuff, so I don't watch it.

Bob Costas going on and on

I find Bob Costas one of my favorite sports commentators. I love to get a good buzz on and listen to him describe an epic situation.

I care.

Especially this time.  I think that it's rough times in the USA and a nearby Olympics will help us rally behind some needed Nationalism.

I like the summer olympics a lot more than the winter games, but I can me moved to a rousing chant of U-S-A!! U-S-A!! any time I see us competing against another country.

I'm with you Stroke though I do think the only time I ever looked forward to figure skating was when Tonya and Nancy were competing!!

I was a huge fan of Michelle Kwan during her Olympic figure skating glory... I have a thing for figure skating in general though...stemming from a true appreciation for women who can slide around on the ice while holding one leg above their head to present their kooch for public inspection.
