I gacked the first race pretty badly...special thanks to Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart for absolutely nothing.

Lots of racing to go though...

I'm in pretty good shape.  Having Earnhardt Jr. helped quite a bit.

I'm going to keep switching around my drivers, though....not get comfortable.

Yeah, the new format really makes that easy.  I do miss a little bit of the salary strategy from last year's game though. Part of what got my ranking up so high was getting on Mark Martin and Joey Logano before their salaries blew up, and riding them as my 4th/5th drivers the rest of the way.

Reminder:  New race today (Fontana), so if you want to switch up your drivers at all, you should probably do that soon, as rosters lock at 3 PM ET.

Dave's finished either 1 or 2 in group for the first two races... If he can keep up that sort of consistency, he'll be tough to beat. I was pretty up and down with my scores last season, and expect more of the same this year.

I have my lineup set.  I'm thinking that I want to keep ahead of the curve, while I'm up at the top, and not just be content with the guys I've chosen.  I'm switching it up.  Go fast, turn left, bitches!

I dropped two drivers and added two new ones for the next race.

Last year, with the salary, I locked in 3 drivers when their value was at its lowest point and rode them the rest of the way. Not gonna be the case this year. I'll substitute liberally, based on how drivers are doing, qualifying performances, track history, etc...

I got lucky again, hitting on 4 of the top-5 finishers for a second straight week. I'm a little bummed that I changed my 5th driver from Logano to Reutimann...I could've gone 1-2-3-4-6 this week.

Game hint for those who are fairly new to racing... Today's race is a short track at Bristol, and certain drivers historically do well on short tracks. Guys like both Busch's (Kyle wins here regularly and Kurt always runs well on the short track), Hamlin, Harvick, Burton, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and even Matt Kemseth.

And props to white bread (Logano) on becoming the youngest driver to ever take the pole position for a Cup race.

Yeah, you pretty much cut my lead in half this week.

As long as you're drafting on me from behind, rather than giving me a bump...it's all good. Wink

We swapped the lead about a dozen times yesterday, Dave...you were up by 30-40 pts at one stage of the race, before I finally made it back up.

Tight battle, and with scoring being the way it is, none of the other entries are more than one good race away from joining us at the top.

I've been riding my same team for a few weeks, thinking that the consistency would help.  However, I seem to be slipping to Stroke by a small amount each week.  Time for a change.  I'm shaking things up a bit this week.
