Let's say that you were going to tear down the current Dolphins team and start over.  Keeping everything in mind (contracts, age, temperament, marketing ability, etc.), which current player on the Dolphins would you choose to build around?

Who to keep on Offense:

Bess (has the talent to be a Wes Welker typer of WR)

Long

Cobbs (the guy is too versatile to let go)

Hartline (Young, and has the talent to be a solid #2 WR)

Henne

Carey (he's not the best at his position, but is under a big contract and is good enough   until other needs are filled)

Thigpen (can keep Henne on his toes if his play goes down, and I believe a good backup QB just in case)

Who to keep on Defense:

Starks (solid player and one of my favorites)

Soliai (he's good for a back-up NT)

Smith (have to see how he turns out)

Davis (see above)

Wake (shows a lot of upside)

Langford (not as solid as Starks, but I still like what I've seen from him)

Merling (give him one more year, then re-evaluate)

Bell (but be active in looking for a young replacement the next year)

Crowder (only because he is locked up to a big contract...if someone offers a good trade for him then ship him off)

Anderson (he's good for depth if nothing else)

Clemons (he's good for special teams if nothing else)

Special Teams:

Carpenter (as good a young kicker there is)

I think its gotta be Henne and Ginn.  Sadly, we need to get better play out of Ginn, and we need to HIT on the draft this year.  But if you're gonna build you would want to give Henne weapons to make HIM successful because, as we saw this season, a great QB can carry an entire team.

Jake Long, Chad Henne and Vontae Davis

^ Word.  I feel cheap for not contributing anything else but that's exactly who I'd pick.

I don't think we're rebuilding so much as we need to re-tool on one side of the ball.  I'd like to see them get younger defensively especially up the middle and that's about it.
