I just love it when you selectively quote statistics. Look at the "per play" statistic of the same site (footballoutsiders.com) and you'll see that RONNIE BROWN was the 8th most valuable back, whereas your boy RICKY WILLIAMS slides to 14th. (Pretty much exactly a reversal of their DYAR rankings).
and you do the same thing douche. how valuable can you be when you are on IR the last half of every season?

I'll throw in a few more overrated players

Rick Norton (The Dolphins' first big mistake.)

Sammie Smith

Was that the dude who looked like John Belushi in Animal House?  I remember hearing about that when he first got drafted.

Apparently 15th out of the 50 players ranked with the total value stat that you yourself quoted. Having only a quarter of the fumbles also helps, of course Wink

I just thought of another over-hyped, bum-ass player.

Randy McMichael

He had like a 5 game stretch in like 2002 or whenever it was and everyone thought he was the next Tony Gonzales. He then proceded to become one of the most mediocre tight-ends I have ever seen in my life. The weird thing about it is that people kept drafting him on their FF squads year after year after year, even when he got traded to St. Louis and did nothing there.

Randy McMichael is uniquely over-rated, both as a Miami Dolphin, as a St. Louis Ram, and by thousands of Fantasy Football players everywhere.

Cecil J. P. "The Diesel" Collins was pretty hyped up during training camp. JJ really got everyone excited when he talked about how he lowers his shoulder and doing stuff that just can't be taught.  We thought he was going to be Dan Marino's Terrell Davis and get us to the promised land. Guess not huh? Tongue

THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

Chris Chambers.

The guy had one good year in 2005, but other than that, he was too easily eliminated by opposing defenses and got dropsies.  I remember one play against the Jets in 2006, when Joey hit him between the numbers but he dropped and the Jets picked it off.

That was a steal, getting a second round pick for him from the Chargers.

^^^Chambers was over-rated because people thought he'd be a #1 receiver.  I say Ricky because we all thought he'd be a franchise savior.  Plus, the Dolphins thought enough of Chambers to spend one #2 pick on him in the draft.  Ricky cost the Fins 2 #1 picks.

That's why, even though Ricky's probably top-2 ever in franchise running backs, he's also the most over-rated.

Current player?  Ted Ginn.  The guy just hasn't developed as much as I thought he should have by now.

Ever?  Jackie Shipp, Jay Brophy and John Offerdahl (only because he kept getting hurt) come to mind.  I can think of any number of busts at running back but if I have to pick one player, I would say Jackie Shipp.

^^^I think Offerdahl is actually under-rated because of all the injuries.  He was a "can't miss hall of famer" through his 5th year in the league, if I remember my early Dolphins watching career correctly.  Now, he'll never sniff the hall due to the short career.
