dolphins tendered fasano at his original draft round, (round 2).

also applied a first-round tender to ronnie. this is pretty interesting... he's almost sure to be a dolphin next year, but you never know. also doesn't prevent teams from calling up the dolphins to see their interest in trading ronnie for lower than first round compensation.

Ronnie is injury Prone........but damn he can run that WildCat like no other.  We either need a legit Bruising RB or some other answers if he were to get picked up. After Brown got hurt last year we never recovered.

It's interesting to note that the team actually voided the last year of Ronnie's contract. Sure, the tender saves a few bucks, but it also carries with it the "risk" that another team signs him (in addition to pissing off the player). Since there have been absolutely no rumors about any contract negotiations, it's hard not to interpret this as management being at least somewhat lukewarm on Brown.

At this point, if someone signs Ronnie or Fasano to an offer sheet, let them walk and take the pick.  I'd take a second rounder for Fasano or a first for Ronnie.

Fasano for a 2nd? No question.

Brown for a 1st? Well... It would almost certainly hurt in the short term. Who do you get as a replacement? Could you get that replacement for less than a low first-round pick? If so, sure, go ahead, but it needs to be someone younger (i.e. draft pick). Doesn't make sense to go after someone who's basically as old as Brown. Still, I think I'd probably take the pick and let Ronnie walk.

I like Ronnie, but with his injury history, and where he stands in relation to the traditional RB shelf-life, I'd take a first round pick for him in a second. Even a late first rounder.

Second rounder for Fasano? Hell yes! Shoot, I'd take a third round pick and a hearty handshake...

^^ I know Al Davis if F'n off his rocker, but I think even that's a stretch...They just released Justin Fargas, but still have Micheal Bush, and Darren McFadden...then of course since they don't have a QB, they've also already got a big back At 6'6" 260 #'s.....

I could see them maybe getting one in the draft, before offering it for Ronnie....

I really doubt the Dolphins are capable of fleecing the Raiders the way New England does.

Bill Parcells has stated on several occasions that there is no way he would ever coach for Al Davis and on several occasions has gone out of his way to make insulting comments about Davis.

Bill Belichick on the on the other hand interviewed to be the head coach of Raiders and would have been willing to be the Raiders head coach under Davis.  (Davis' decision not to hire him.)  Belichick has on several occasions gone out of his way to publicly complement Davis.  And has gone as far to say he is one of the most knowledgeable people in professional football, knowing more about football then himself.

Bottom line is BB treats him with respect and then fleeces the old loon.  Most everyone else treats him like an old loon and gets nothing.
