I'm surprised Pennington didn't want to go somewhere else and be a starter.

Pennington will probably start here.  He is a lot better than Henne will ever be.

Hey Sponge. Long time no see. At least you got your caps-lock issue fixed.

So what does this even mean?  Are we keeping 4 QB's this year?  I wouldn't be too supportive of ditching any of our younger players to keep Pennington for another year.  If we keep all 4 then great, but our front office guys don't seem to be real supportive of the 4 QB way of doing things.

It means that White was a very bad pick and a waste of a 2nd rounder. He is way too light for the NFL and will need a few more years to be effective if at all. This draft is not a good one for QB's.  They are hoping Pennington buys them time and spreads knowledge at the same time.

Agree with this... I think White was a risk-pick that didn't pan out, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of the equation completely in short order.

I think Henne is still developing as an NFL QB, and that he'll be just fine as Miami's starter. He'd be even better with Brandon Marshall and one more large side of beef on the O-line. Grin

Having Pennington as a more-than-capable backup can't be anything but a good thing. Having a capable #3 QB like Thigpen is also a good thing, and something that not too many teams can claim, in regards to QB depth.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Thigpen was a fluke last year at the end. He played pretty well for the short time he played.

If Miami gets rid of Tyler Thigpen, they will regret it.

Thigpen is a much better quarterback than Chad Henne. What you saw during the Pittsburgh game WAS no fluke D5499. The guy came in cold and kick started the offense and that's hard to do.

If you go back and look at the time when he was the KC quarterback, they were in most of those games down to the wire. He's fast, throws a long ball with touch and can get out of the pocket.

Sadly, Thigs may be the odd man out in Miami.

Thats the biggest problem I saw with the past regimes. If they picked a guy they would stick with him until he got hurt or they got fired. Hopefully This one will light the fire of competition and let the best man win.

It's nice to have some veteran depth at QB.

Interesting....I figured Chad was gonna sign where he had the best chance at winning a starting role.  Maybe he thinks that is Mia.

I don't see Mia carrying 4 QBs on the 53, but I doubt they cut anyone before camp ends.  Pennington could be cut.  Article doesn't say how much he got as a bonus.

Basically if he get traded it means he got traded to a team that wants him as a starter.  I can't image any team giving that much money and even a 7th round pick for a someone to sit on the bench for a year.

I don't see how this can mean anything but White getting axed. The guy needs to bulk up NOW.

While i realize many of you on this site have a man crush on Tyler Thigpen, I expect to see the dolphins trade him before the draft for a mid round pick, or perhaps as part of a move on draft day. I agree that he's worth keeping, but Parcells and Ireland don't listen much to me when it comes to personnel.

From the posts I've read from you here, it is pretty obvious that you aren't a very knowledgeable football fan.  No offense, you might be bright about other topics.  But football....not so much.
