As I mentioned in the other Ferguson thread, before it happened.  I don't think it is a bad move (for any team) as long as the price is right.

He doesn't count towards the team's 53.  So basically you have an extra guy sitting in reserve capacity for 8 weeks.  Odds are someone on the team is gonna get put on the IR during the first 8 weeks of the season.  After 8 weeks of the season you evaluate the team and its health.  If the Ferrguson won't improve the team you cut him then.

They needed a Push at the end last season. He might come in handy. Doesn't hurt as we hunt for a long time stud replacement.
