Note that you can set your picks for future weeks in this game. You can always change your pick(s) later, so there's no downside to picking for the next few weeks RIGHT NOW.

that's how i rolled last year, just incase my dumbass forgot

What the F is up with ESPN these days*? Their math in the Eliminator game is... dubious...

Check the win percentages in the league page: http://games.espn.go.com/eliminator/en/group?groupID=659

The 3 out of 4 win teams all have a 66.8% win percentage. That's close to 2 out of 3, so maybe ESPN just hasn't gotten around to including the last game (it's only early Monday, after all). The .8 is pretty odd, though... 2/3 would be 66.666666.... rounded as 66.7%.

Any semblance of sanity breaks down when we get to Fau and his 2-win team: 42.8%...

* This is only one of a string of recent brain farts by ESPN. Another weird one that caught me off balance was their switch to a new URL for their NFL page. It used to be sports.espn.go.com/nfl/ -- but they've now dropped the sports. No problem as such, but when you decide NOT to point the old address at the new one, not inform visitors that the content has moved and proceed to update the old "site" semi-regularly, it's just plain stupid and bound to catch out anyone using the old URL (bookmark or suggested link in browser).

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/
http://espn.go.com/nfl/

This is sports.espn.go.com/nfl/ right now:

Bears win on late field goal? Uhmmm... not yesterday they didn't.

*shrug*

I'd prefer if ESPN didn't force/coerce users into using Real Names and then displaying them everywhere. That's just bad form. I'm certainly not going to perpetuate it by reproducing the names here.

I think that percentage is not "winning percentage" but "percentile in the community"

Meaning Fau's 2 out of 4 puts his entry better than only 42% of the ESPN community participants

That's what I suspect anyway.

That might make sense (even though pct is not a standard/accepted abbreviation for percentile)...

It looks like the top 7 of us were really sweating out our picks wins yesterday!  I know I was.  Looks like all of us picked close ones.

I'm so happy Nate Clements is a 49er this morning.  Had he just fallen down when he intercepted the ball, SF wins and mecadonzilla loses...but... Roll Eyes

Houston barely held on for the win.  I watched a good portion of that game.  Oakland could have easily tied that thing up...had they not been the Raiders.

A 7 point victory does not a blow out make.

The Saints looks like they're working through some problems as the defending champs.  I imagine they blew it for a lot of folks on that game.

I'm still mad at myself that I didn't pick the Lions.  I was dead certain the Lions were going to win, but couldn't bring myself to lay it on the line for the winless Lions.  Instead I went with the Colts who struggled mightily win KC.  I'd love to have that Lions win in the bag and use Indy later down the stretch.

Chargers did the same to me... How in the world could they get beaten by the Raiders?

Mind = Boggled

When I said the Saints were overrated in the Power 10, people laughed at me.

That's the great thing about the Power 10.  It works itself out over time.

I never laughed at you, btw.  I just felt the defending champs needed some respect until proven otherwise.  Proof is now in the pudding.   Any team that gets beaten by the Cards this year is on notice...of sucking hardcore.
