After taking the first two games from the Giants, San Diego can squeeze into a tie for the NL West lead by winning today on the last day of the regular season. If they do, there will be "at least" one extra game, as the 3-game series will stretch to a 4th game on Monday to break the tie. If Atlanta AND San Diego win today, the loser of the first "extra" game on Monday will face Atlanta on Tuesday in a second extra game to determine the Wild Card.

Gotta love playoff baseball...  NOW LET'S GO PADRES!! !! !!

I got a kick out of Miguel Tejada's remark which I heard on ESPN last night: "The way we are playing right now, we're the best team in all of baseball."

Really, Miguel?

GL to the Rays in the playoffs!

I Know it isn't going to happen but I hope it's a Braves-Rays World Series for Cox's last run.

It still was a great season for San Diego. Latos should be an ace for years to come, unfortunately for them he tired out like all rookie pitchers do and couldn't help them hold on.

Still, no one predicted this team to do anything when the season started, so it is still a success.

Padres are like the Chargers. Tease during the regular season, falter before bowing to the Giants every year. No wonder they are both in that suckhole they call San Diego they deserve each other

^^^ Not really accurate...  The "huge" difference between Bolts and Friars is that the Bolts are expected to do well every year and then they disappoint at the end. No one, and I mean NO ONE expected the Padres to do anything this season. Hell, I can point to a number of major publications that had SD slated to finish dead last in the NL West and be among the worst records in the league.

SD just flat out overperformed in an epic way early in the season, got everyone all goobered up about them, and then they came back down to earth the final two months of the season. Balloon...meet poppage.
