Thought about it, for a short while, and I think the Fins should take a shot at Moss.  Yes he's a prima donna, but put him opposite Marshall (as opposed to Hartline), along with Bess, and it's a whole new season for the Dolphins.  Obviously he won't last with the Dolphins for more than a year, maybe two at most.  But what's the downside at this point in the season???  I wouldn't have wanted to pick him up in the offseason, but hey he might want to prove something before the year is out; and worst xase scenario we waive him after a couple games if he is too disruptive.

We want to get Moss so we can not throw down field to him like we don't throw down field to Marshall?

And play him where?  I'll take Marshall, Bess and Hartline over Moss any day of the week and twice on Sundays.  That Hartline end a round was a thing of beauty.  That guy can move pretty well for a white boy.  He just needs more time and coaching.  Moss is over the hill.

Ladanian Tomlinson was supposed to be old and over the hill too. And now he's playing for a team in our division and doing really well. What's the risk in picking Moss up and giving him a shot down here opposite of Marshall? We can win 7-9 games this season with hartline/bess or we can take a chance on Moss and maybe it sparks the offense. Worst case scenario is it doesn't and we still miss the playoffs. No big deal.

Did you happen to see the Vikings/New England game this weekend?  I'll skip the love in if you don't mind.  Randy's head isn't in it this year for whatever reason and when his head isn't it, his heart isn't either.  If he's looking for a job in the off-season I can see taking a flyer on him them, but not now.

The Henne/Marshall/Bess/Hartline combo is just starting to come together.  Give it the rest of this year to convince you, I'm already convinced this group will eventually be one of the best in football.

We don't need him poisoning the minds of our young guys.

According to a Vikings beat reporter Judd Zulgad,

Quote

Miami and Seattle already expressing interest in claiming Moss off waivers. Dolphins would want to block Patriots.

And that's where we disagree. I think its a nice group of recievers but it would be better to have a guy opposite of Marshall that can stretch the defense some. I don't think Hartline is that guy.

I am just going to say right now that I don't want him on the team, but if he ends up here anyway, I will support him as I do any other player unless he gives me reason not to.

If the Dolphin's sign him and gives a PC after the Mia game in Foxboro, like he gave last night you will have a reason not to.

Seriously a team that grabs him off the waiver wire is playing with fire.  If he clears waiver wires and then agrees to play for the team, different story.  But if Randy is told where he is playing and doesn't like the choice, you have not improved the team.

Yes, yes I did. What I didn't see was Moss single-covered even once.

And I don't think that Moss is that guy anymore.  He rarely stretches defenses anymore.  Oh he can catch a long TD pass from time to time, but it's usually because he uses his body to shield the defender or goes up and gets it or makes an acrobatic 1 handed catch, but not because he simply blows by a defender.  He doesn't stretch the field vertically, he simply is very good at catching the ball in 1 on 1 coverage down the field.  He might stretch the field horizontally, making it difficult to double both him and Marshall, leaving Bess in one on one coverage, but he has maybe a year or 2 left in him at most.  Give Hartline a little more time to learn how to use his body and his hands to shield a defender in one on one coverage and I think you'll see defenses having a hard time deciding who to double.  He already does a fairly good job getting open underneath, he just needs a little more work on the deep stuff.  He has the speed, the route running and the hands, he just needs a bit more polish and veteran savvy.
