Why would they put in a claim for David Boston on defense, but not one of the most prolific receivers in the game??

Becase they know (as does the rest of the NFL) that Randy Moss is WASHED UP and a lockeroom cancer. With Meriman he "may" be washed up but at least he isn't a lockeroom cancer. Plus we have a bit of a need at OLB.....not  a need at WR at all.

Don't forget Merriman is only 26 so he may have some truly quality years ahead of him.

Just in case I am wrong about his age, I didn't look it up but I did hear it on the radio this morning.

You're right about his age, but I think Merriman is done.  Now that he's stopped juicing, he's injury prone, just like David Boston was.
