I don't know any other way around it. He flat called out Henning .... and I guess Sparano by association. Either way he seems to think coaching is the issue.  Several of us have said it looks as if they want Henne to be Pennington since he obviously isn't throwing like he did last year. I wonder if this is what Marshall is talking about?

This is my first year here and coach Henning and coach Sparano's formula for winning might be a little different than where I come from," said Marshall, who has only one touchdown catch this season. "I'm fine with that, but it becomes a problem when we're losing.

Can you blame him? The playcalling is atrocious. I keep looking at the drive a few weeks back (I think it was against the Steelers)- 6 plays, 96 yds, TD. Thats what happens when the offense is opened up. Henning tries to play it too close to the vest sometimes, and it shows.

Edit to add: The 6 play, 96 yard scoring drive was against the Bengals.

got to agree with Marshall on this one.  from what I have seen this year, the playcalling is very vanilla, conservative and the DEFs can read what's going on.

they talk of his offensive "genius" and game planning....seriously, if this was 1979 it would be.  come on, it's 2010.

like I said yesterday, our WRs are not running "free" thru the middle or in the seams.  I see alot of other good teams doing this and not us, which is very troublesome.  in my opinion, we've got 2 really good slot WRs and a great deep threat, but all I see is comeback routes and 5-10 across the middle passes.  really?.....really?  is this how we are "attacking" defenses?

if I was another team's DEF coord. this would keep me up at nite!

this man has GOT to go.  I know there are other problems with this team, but I believe this is the most glaring problem.  you don't win games in this league too often by scoring 10-14 pts, unless you are stacked at DEF and well, umm, we are not that.

does this look like an innovative, play calling genius?  looks like someone's grandpa

I don't like to jump to conclusions early in the season, I was okay with the playcalling early on, felt they were trying to make Henne feel comfortable.  However, we're eight games in, and I don't seem to see the Fins run any plays were I say "wow that was a great call", or "they really did a great job diagnosing the opposing Defense this week".  It's starting to feel like the Wanny days of playing to try and not lose.  Not sure if this is Hennings fault, or is he under direction from Sparano??

I think its Henning. I think I remember reading something way back saying that Henning had total control over the offense.

Perhaps he tried and he felt he was not being heard.

Perhaps you are right STL but you know when the media gets a hold of this kind of stuff no matter what it is always the player who winds up looking like a douche even when they are right. I know Marshall has a reputation for being a pain in the ass but he has been nothing but a good citizen here in Miami so I can see the media just blowing this out of proportion.

Brandon will get his wish. Miami will have a new Head Coach and Offensive coordinator next year. This group is clueless on every level.

Brandon should stay quiet though because he needs to build his image back up. And in this case he is getting his wish, Henning and Sparano are toast at seasons end (minus a miracle run of course)

It sucks because it seems like we alternate between having the coaches but not the players to having the players but not the coaches.

That being said, Brandon is right. What happened to the Henne who threw deep last year? We got Marshall just for that very reason. We didn't need to get him if we were gonna do 4 yard dumpoffs every other play. Hennig has been bland and terrible. Why did Brown only get 3 more carries the rest of the game after his brilliant first drive? Did Hennig have money on Baltimore? It just makes no sense.

The last time players were calling out coaches, the coaches got fired (see the end of the 2007 season).

Careful with those book-cover judgements... Here's another "looks like someone's grandpa"...and I promise that this one WAS an innovative play-calling genius. Wink
