Now, we HAVE to draft a QB. You do not make a QB change like this mid season unless for whatever reason, you are convinced the young QB is not the guy. Chad Pennington is one injury away from having his career ended. Add to that, even if he is able to finish the season injury free, is he the starter next year? I would have to say no. If they were sold on Thigpen, then he would be starting, not Pennington. So, instead of using our first draft pick to get the fastest WR available to stretch the field, (Why did we cut Ted Ginn?)  we will need to use it on a QB. I do not want to bring in another QB retread.

So, now we have Chad Pennington starting. He is known for all the dink and dunk passes that everyone was so critical of Henne for. BUT, Henne can throw deep. Let's be honest...Henne has been handcuffed the entire time. He is not being told to throw deep, and Henning does not allow him to call audibles.

I am a Henne supporter, but with this move, I don't see how we can put him back as the starter. This has shattered his confidence, and I doubt he recovers. Not with this team anyway. He will have to be traded (Buffalo needs a QB) and here we go again with our QB woes. Add Henne to the long list of failed QB projects since Marino retired.

So, how can we move forward? Henning has to go. Plain and simple. His playcalling has gone from weak wince to head scratcher to face palm to putting your head through a wall. The Dolphins have made several moves today. Let Henning's firing come today please. Let David Lee finish the season as interim OC. He can run Henning's system because he and the players know it. There's nothing wrong with the system. Its the play calling. Maybe someone calling the plays who wasn't old when dirt was young would make a difference.

So, maybe Miami squeaks into the playoffs, and gets their butts kicked. How is this productive? We are heading down the road to another 1-15 season unless Henning goes, and the Phins bring in another QB. Pennington is NOT the answer. He's a band aid on a broken bone, and the broken bone is Henning.

Before anyone starts yelling about drafting, we should consider what is available. I'm not very high on next year's class myself.

Really?  I think there are at least 4 good QBs coming out this year.

Where are you writing a blog at, Frimp?

...I'd be interested in reading it.

I agree...and a healthy number of "high ceiling, under-the-radar" QBs from smaller schools that I'm guessing will shoot up the draft lists once they get to the Combine and private workouts.

Nowhere, really. This was the first blog type thing I've done other than the Dallas Terrell Owenses thing I did a few years ago. I posted this on my FB page and a few forums. I doubt I'll do this enough to warrant starting a blog site unless I do it on phinvaders.com

Forget about a first round QB.  Miami's going running back.  Ronnie Brown won't be brought back, and there will be a need at the position.

What's the point of drafting a runningback as long as Henning isn't calling running plays?

You can usually find a good RB later in the draft, but usually, you can't find a premier QB out of the 1st round.  I am emphasizing the word USUALLY.

Nobody can be Dan Marino mark II.  Everyone involved in the organization as well as the fans need to recognize that.  We were spoiled with him and now we give up on everyone too early.

Not disagreeing.  I'm just calling my shot.  They're going RB.

we don't need another once in a generation qb, just a starting caliber qb better than we have had over the past 10 years.

I'm convinced Ronnie will be back, barring injury. He's been injured a bit too much, so even though the injuries appear unrelated, it's made the front office a bit skittish. That and the uncertainty surrounding the CBA.
