Just saw the breaking news on ESPN.  After Green Bay ripped them a new one yesterday, it was expected.  The players don't want to play for him anymore.

ESPN.com had something interesting about benching Favre in favor of Jackson- the writer said that the only guy who had any faith in Jackson was the guy who got fired!

I agree completely. As an owner/GM it doesn't matter how much you like your coach... once he loses the team, there's just no way back.

This is 3 weeks too late.  He should have been fired the second the Randy Moss being waived story broke.

Interesting tidbit today.  I was watching NFL Network and one of the reporters was saying that there is a rumor that Parcells will head to Minnesota next season and take Tony Sparano with him.

If that's true, I hope they take Dan Henning as well.

Tony still has another year left on his contract.   He can't interview for the job unless the Dolphins fire him first or give him control over personnel and reporting directly to Wilf.  Which would render Parcells as pointless.

So if Parcells takes the same job in Minnesota that he had here, who's to stop him from naming Sparano the coach/GM?   Or him giving the Dolphins a compensatory pick/player?  Rumor has it that Ross is going to clean house at the end of the season anyway.

No surprise Childress is gone, but I think it'll end up hurting Minnesota in the long run.  Farve/lack of a quarterback and injuries are the main reason they're not winning.

In the long run? No, I doubt it. Childress has ZERO people skills. Everyone who's ever worked with or for him says that. Even in college, that's hard to get away with. I think there's a reason why he's NEVER been a head coach at any level before. As a coordinator, you're forced to turn it down a notch and you don't have the same type of contact with the players. As a head coach, people skills are arguable the most important asset.

Childress alienates both players and coaches. Bad mojo for a head coach.

^^^^

This is the same Brad Childress who took the Vikings to the playoffs with Taveres fucking Jackson at quarterback.  He's also the coach who was a Brett Faver moment away from the Superbowl last year.

People skills or no people skills he must have been doing something right.

Now Brett Faver is showing his age and got caught with his dick in his cell phone so they suck.  The only mistake Childress made was not benching him two or three games into the season.

If you think Favre is the main reason they're so much worse this year, you haven't watched a lot of Vikings football. The O-line and defense is way below last year. And so is the running game. Missing his best receivers due to injury hasn't done any wonders for Favre either. (AND he's playing worse).
