For the actual cooking process, I'm going old school. I was camping around Thanksgiving in 2006, and there was a pile of bricks nearby. So, I built up a small cooking pit, stuck a peice of bamboo through the turkey, with charcoal at the bottom, covered the open areas with aluminum foil, and let er rip! I turned it a quarter turn every 45 minutes or so. It was the best damn turkey I've EVER made. This year, I'm doing it that way again, except, I'm brining the turkey until tomorrow morning when I start the turkey.

In 2006, I had a TV with rabbit ears hooked up to a power source at the campsite, and had the TV on top of my van and a cooler full of beer, and got to witness the Phins whip up on the Lions.

So, how are you cooking your turkey?

I'm doing the same thing that Dave's wife is doing.  One turkey will be roasted and the other will be fried.

I'm not doing squat.  I fractured a finger last Monday & had surgery on Thursday.  My left hand is in a cast.

That will burn the top of the turkey.

It has tin foil on the top of it until the last 30 mins or so.  Then it gets flipped so the bottom with get brown too.

I have a live turkey in my fenced back yard, and when it's time to eat tomorrow, I'm going to chase it down and eat it raw, feathers and all.  By doing so, I will absorb the mighty bird's life energy and achieve Thanksgiving enlightenment.

My parents will be doing that.  My job is to eat and to play with the kids to give the adults a break.

I ran 7.5 miles on the treadmill today in preparation for the big meal tommorow.
