^ Don't assume things I did not say.  FYI I don't watch CBS pre-game post-game or halftime.
So you admit Berman is biased?

Second sentence....

Quote

Reality is all of them have their biases and teams they root for.

I think that answers your question.   Well, all except Rodney Harrison he is the only completely unbiased and objectively fair analyst on TV.  Seau is pretty good too.  Wink

Funny, I've never thought of Berman as a Dolphin hater.  Sure, he loves the Bills, but he seems to treat the Dolphins fairly.  The way he talks about Marino and Shula boarders on reverence.  Boomer isn't the only person not picking the Dolphins to win many games.

I'll tell you what, you watch the "Schwami" from now until the end of the season, so that leaves 5 games,  and I guarantee he picks all 5, definitely 4, AGAINST the Phins.  and  the Phins should be favored in 3 out of the 5, especially the 3 at home.

now, I know it's a small sample size to choose from, but "it what it is".

believe me, he's homer

I'll try and remember to watch the Swami's picks for the remainder of the year; but even if he picks against Miami in every game, does that mean he hates Miami, or does it mean that he doesn't respect them as much as you would like?  If Berman is a such a Bills fan, he would pick against the Jets and Patriots too;  but he doesn't.......because those teams have earned his respect by winning consistently.

I don't think you can take these picks against Miami personally.  I love the Fins and still find myself picking against them half the time.

Is picking against the Fins a "bias" though or is it just being smart

when I started this thread I wasnt looking for a fight and I fully understand it was 2 3rd place teams that were playing.
The point I was trying to make is within a 30 second highlight clip the best they could come up with was 25 seconds of Raider Highlights and 5 seconds of a Ricky 40 plus yard TD run.
we won didnt we and outside of a kickoff return what did they do at all on the day. I guess they could have shown that wonderfull Run Offense that Oakland had going on Sunday what was it 16 yards for the Day?

I'm not wanting his respect for the Phins, I just don't like the outright blatant dislike for the team.  I understand hsi love for the Bills, believe me, I had to listen to his "circle the wagons" for the umpteenth time when the Bills were rolling Marino and Co. during the early 90's.  I get it.

I just don't like the talking heads to be THAT blatant.  I can see the bias coming from a former player, really, they played the game, they know what's going on during the game....talking shit and the smack talk.  I give players a little more lee way with that stuff.  but an oversized talking head talking like he played the game?Huh  give me a break.

by the way, I think Marino's pretty unbiased with the team, I mean he knows where his bread's buttered, but he calls them out from time to time, usually with the head down and shaking his head Smiley

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here.  As individuals, some guys get on our nerves.....and some don't.  It all comes down to personal preference.

Personally, I still like Berman, although the shtick is getting a little tired.  I like both Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg, despite Greenberg's love of the Jets and Golic's apparent dislike of the Miami front office.  I like Dan Patrick and I love Scott Van Pelt, even though he rips the Heat a new corn chute every chance he gets.  Most of the time, I think the analysis is fair, and I find these guys better than most.  Obviously, I love Marino only second to Don Shula, but I find him a little boring as an analyst.  I guess I'll tolerate a little anti-Dolphin reporting if I find the analysis compelling and interesting.

I can't stand Joe Theismann, who hates the Dolphins.  But I'm also not a fan of Cris Carter who played for Miami or Colin Cowherd who loves the Heat.  I reserve my real venom for Jim Rome, who is a Laker/Raider douche-bag.

Perhaps somewhat off topic, I'm not sure, but I thought about starting a topic about it and decided against it, thought this might be an appropriate enough *spot* to post about it.

Anyways, while I do wonder sometimes if the "networks" hate Miami (I think 'dislike' or 'just don't care so much for' might be better selections, though), that's not what I wanted to discuss (or ask about) with this post.  What I'm wondering is if it is possible to watch the game anywhere online now that it is over?  While I realize that's probably not possible, if it is, I thought someone might be able to tell me about it on here.

The main reason I'm wondering is because I didn't get to see the game, of course, and it was only the 2nd game so far this season that I haven't been able to watch, which is surprising seeing how I don't have Sunday NFL Ticket and live in North AL (regional coverage usually gives me Tennessee on CBS and Atlanta on Fox if those two are the participants in the early afternoon games).  Regardless of luck or figuring out a few ways to watch the games otherwise, the only game I'd missed to this point was actually the first game of the season @ Buffalo, which I honestly didn't mind missing that much other than it was the first game of the season.  Seeing as how we apparently played so well in all phases of the game aside from the big KO return by Jacoby at the beginning of the game as well as a few big passes to him, I'd kinda like to watch this one in its entirety if possible.  Might actually give me some optimism for the future, if nothing else.   Cheesy

So, if that's possible that anyone knows of, feel free to respond or even just PM me.  Thanks!

NFL.com

You pay like $9 or $12 a year (might be more now but not much) and you can watch EVERY game online. They don't put the games up to view till 24 hours after the game is played though.

Are you talking about Game Rewind?  It's actually $24.99, but that's the mid season subscription price, it's double that at the beginning of the year.  I'm thinking about doing it now since I could go back and watch any of the earlier games, I too missed the Oakland game and would like to see it.

Hmmm...yeah, that's probably what I'm looking for, but I'm definitely hoping for the $9-12 range at this point in the season as opposed to the $24.99 one, especially now since there's only 5 games left and I should be able to at least watch the next two (CLE and NYJ)...not sure about the last 3 against BUF, DET, and NE, but we might already be out of contention by that point anyways, so..... Cheesy.  Regardless, thanks to MikeO and Pappy for responding to my question.  I would surely like to watch the Raiders' game since apparently we looked really good overall, on both sides of the ball, besides a few misques here and there, but I'll have to look into it more to see if it's worth the money for just a few games.

Just to clarify, that with that $24.99 you get to watch any game from 2009 or 2010.  It's not just the current game that you can watch.  And that's for any team in the league as far as I know.  There's also some additional things, like I believe they have something like a highlight reel that shows all the top plays of the week and stuff like that.  It's not a good deal if all you want is to watch the rest of the games for this year, because like has been mentioned, you don't get to watch the game on Sunday's.  Sunday's game is not available until Monday after the game, but you can go back and watch any of the previous games all the way back thru the beginning of 2009.  At least that's my understanding of the service.

It probalby is $24. I knew it was cheap, just not how cheap. I thought it was less but I guess it went up. I haven't used it since I have DIRECTV but I remember hearing about it and thought it was a little cheaper. $24 still isnt' bad though for 2 years worth of ARCHIVED games

No way I could wait a day to watch the game. I'll stick with the Ticket.
