I believe he is the QB for the Phins future, very composed.  I think he'll learn from the benching, though I don't he should have ever been benched to begin with, but que sera sera

I don't think it was really the benching that convinced him, but rather the fact that Pennington took 1 snap and was hurt and Thigpen showed nothing in his 1 start.  That boosted Henne's confidence in himself that even if he throws a couple picks the job is still his to lose.

But I'm really glad to hear Henne say it.  Maybe it was him all along that was afraid to make mistakes and maybe he's finally realizing that making a mistake is not the end of the world, but I still think that Sparano had a lot to do with that thinking in him in the first place.  You have to let your QB know you have faith in him to make plays.  Sure, you don't want him tossing a pick every game, but you can't drill it into his head such that it's all he thinks about and is afraid to make plays.

But the thing I was most excited about was that I heard in a critical situation on Sunday, Henne nixed the play that was called.  He said he didn't like the play and gave 2 alternate plays that he liked better and they ended up going with one of the plays that Henne wanted to run.  That shows he's starting to take ownership of the position.  You want a guy in the huddle that takes charge.  The others have to think that no matter what happens the QB will find a way to get it done.  I thought this was a good first step.  It's his job.  It's his team.  He needs to realize that and act like it.

What I don't get is why Pennington and Thigpen were allowed to audible but Henne was not.

Why do you think that Henne is not allowed to audible?  I've never seen that stated to my recollection.

they might be "dummy" audiables to fool the defense into think he is changing the play but he really isn't

All I could find on this was the following paragraph in a blog by Brian Miller who runs a fan website.  I don't think this should be taken as fact especially in light of the fact that it also says that both Pennington and Thigpen were allowed to audible.  Why on earth would they let both of them audible and not Henne.  And I don't know how he came to the conclusion that Pennington was able to audible when he ran a total of 2 plays.  So you mean he audibled on one of the 2 plays that he ran?  I find that hard to believe.  It's also possible that Ricky was only talking about that week since Henne was coming back from an injury and wasn't taking all the snaps.

"The Miami Dolphins have not yet announced who will be behind the center for the Raiders game on Sunday, but indications remain that Chad Henne will be back in that role.  What is even less clear is whether or not Henne will be able to audible out of the plays called in by Dan Henning.  Something that according to Ricky Williams, he has not been allowed to do.  Tyler Thigpen was able to audible in his one start last week against Chicago.  Chad Pennington was also allowed to audible."

At the risk of having you think that I'm advocating slavery, do you have any support for this statement, or is this just another "throw it against the wall and see if it sticks" comment that you come up with and require everyone to blindly agree with, lest they be thought of as idiots?

oh my god, do you look to pick fights and de-rail every thread over this nonsense! GET OVER IT!!!Once again YOU have de-railed this thread totally off topic now.

Why don't you just put me on IGNORE or just ignore my posts. I am guessing it would make your message board experience here more enjoyable!

P.S...if you actually READ my one line comment. I said "THEY MIGHT BE DUMMY AUDIABLE".....it was a thought.  Brainstorming. I never said it was dummy audiables!  Roll Eyes
