about 15 days left in 2010,I'm fairly certain we as humans wont blow ourselves up in the next 15 days...So I'll ask this question....
I guess this is the how was your 2010 thread, but I think it's more than that.....What happened to you in 2010? Did something big happen, did you have kid?
get married, divorced? Get a better job, lose a job? Did you learn something about yourself, change something about yourself? Did you get a new car? Did you
accomplish anything you wanted this year? How will you look back on 2010...

Let's try to keep it to 2010,and not kill the What are you wanting to do in 2011 thread in a couple weeks!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For me it's pretty much one word...I survived,I feel like I should be standing on a hill with a tie around my head like a bandanna,Sleeves torn off a T
shirt, jeans ripped apart, holding a wireless keyboard in the air...

Personally - Lot's of self awareness, and self acceptance things in my life.Acceptance of my social awkwardness, and knowing it will only get worse as I get
older, and that I'll never live up to society expectations or rules. It's wasted energy...I started out with three months of having chips removed from my
knees,in essence throwing out a workout regiment out the window this year...I'm a much happier fat man....

Professionally - This is the worst part of my year....I ended up working two jobs for awhile, as 25% - 33% (depending on how you look at it)of my normal
salary went to unexpected medical bills. My job satisfaction has me feeling like I've gone from valuable team member,to a a guy ducted taped to an office
chair, with one finger free to a keyboard, shoved in a closet...then used like a magic eight ball..They open the door, rip the duct tape off my mouth and ask a
question...then get frustrated when they get an magic eight ball answer...I'm debating on what to do,My crystal ball sees large thunder storms on the
horizon...

Overall, I survived myself, and it was a year where I feel like I'm actually trying to move forward, rather than running in place the past couple of
years...I got to go Camping/Floating early in the summer, and it really made my year a more positive one...

2010 was pretty tough.

Personally, it was my first year of marriage, so that had ups and downs.  They say that the first year is one of the hardest, and it's true.  Being married is harder than not being married, even if you live the same way.  I'm not really sure why that is, but it is.

Professionally, 2010 was bad, but it was overflow from 2009.  Things are actually on the verge of looking up, I think, but thusfar, things are still rough.

Socially, I'm really having a good life.  I have enjoyed the year in terms of entertainment, sports, friends, fun, family, etc.

Personally - I had a decent year. My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary and honestly I can say that marriage has treated us extremely well. The marriage has not changed our relationship one bit from the five years we were together prior to the marriage. My son will be turning 16 soon and as long as he keeps his grades up I will be teaching him how to drive. This year he took an active interest in Shooting which is one of my hobbies so I am planning on buying him his first shotgun for Christmas. We traded in our Lexus SUV this year and bought a 2010 Camaro SS. That car is so damn fun to drive it never gets old.

Professionally - My company has had a decent year so I really can not complain compared to how I see other that are struggling.

Overall - I did not complete some of the goals I set out to accomplish this year mainly because I am a lazy ass procrastinator. In 2011 I hope to get back on track with those goals while playing more softball and making more cabin trips than I got to do in 2010. I also think 2011 will bring forth a new house for me and Mrs. AZ and we are really toying with the idea of trying for a child mid year.

Interesting to me, two people I respect, both in the first year of marriage, two opposite different views...

Shocked on AZ's 16 year old,I remember you talking about him when he was younger....Good luck, and have fun trying for the newest chip off the block... Grin

To clarify, I'm not saying that the first year of marriage was bad....just that it took more work than any other year of our relationship.

Up and down mostly.

My new proctoring job has kept me with a steady supply of income, but I was unable to find a coop for the fall of 2010, which was a disappointment, given how awesome my Spring of 2009 coop was.  The good thing about my school is, you can make money while you attend, which I have done.

Education going great so far.  I'm a senior now and this was my last full semester.  Unless, I totally bomb my biochem final tommorow, I should pass everything.  I'll have one more course to take this spring and then I graduate.  I'm thinking about taking a class to try to become an EMT, as I want to go to medical or nursing school.  Finally, I paid off all my student loans, which is great.

Socially, things have taken a great turn for the better for me.  The advice you all gave me in the thread I started this fall has really seemed to work.  Girls seem more willing to hang out and spend time with me.  I have gone on what I call "friendship dates" with at least five different girls this semester.  Some of them seem to be heading towards meaningful friendships.  It's great to be able to have people enjoy being around me.  Hopefully, I can get one of those girls I meet in the future to be my girlfriend.

Musically, things went great.  My Lady Gaga drag performance at school was a huge hit.  My youtube covers continue to be well received in general, even the ones where I only sing.

The sad note of my year was losing my beloved Grandmother at the age 94.  I was one of her 12 grandchildren.  I miss her and so does all of our family.  She was the most wonderful grandmother a person could ever want.

We were blessed with the addition of my cousin's twin baby boys in September.  They are incredibly cute and I look forward to being a great first cousin once removed to them, the way I was with my other cousin's children.

Mostly a Great year...

2 new nephews who are super cute and more importantly, healthy and strong (Seth Alexander and Austin Charles)

Job is pretty secure...the hosting industry is pretty "safe".  The beginning of the year we had some fallout but (Thankfully) didn't have to lay people off and by May we were hiring more people so that was reassuring.

The In-Laws are in currently from Portugal.  So far so good.

Dog broke the 95 pound mark...we are praying he is done growing.

The year came with a few sad times of course, but all in all...It was a great year.

This was a solid year in the Dolphster family.   New and better job for my wife.  Things going very well in my job.  A couple of great vacations to New Orleans and Hawaii.  Good health for the most part for both of us.  No complaints about 2010.

Weird year.  Moved in with my parents because I only had one class left to get my degree and I wanted to save up some money.  Well that backfired.  Started getting in a funk and didn't end up passing the class.  Moved in with my girlfriend and took the class again while working full time instead of part time.  Passed the class, so now I have my degree.  Still working a shitty retail job, but hopefully that will change soon having a B.A. and all.  So I guess you could say it started out shitty and ended pretty awesome.

Absolutely sucked.  Complete waste of 365 days this year.  With one exception, that being Mrs. Fin.

2011 can't be any worse and I'm starting to get more breaks personally and professionally.

2010 was kinda weak, bordering on miserable, for the most part.  I'm glad its over, but I worry that 2011 will be more of the same, and likely worse.
