http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2010/12/video-bonus-miami-dolphins-brandon-marshall-calls-out-chad-henne.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sports%2FMiamiDolphinsweblog+%28Miami+Dolphins+%7C+Sun-Sentinel+Blogs%29

I don't think 2 guys could come away with 2 more different opinions on what was just said than me and Mike Berardino.  I'm talking about what Brandon Marshall had to say about Chad Henne.  Read the following and you decide what Brandon is saying.

“We had some opportunities this year to get it done and we didn’t do that,” Marshall said. “I guess we have to evaluate what we’ve done this year and see where we can improve and see if we can become good before we can become great.”

His advice to “Checkdown Chad” Henne?

“Just got to let it go, you know?” Marshall said. “Don’t worry about the consequences. Just throw it up and see what happens. Throw a pick or whatever. Let’s live and die by it. We want to play smart football and we want to be consistent, but at the same time if you look at what teams do with Roddy White [Falcons], Calvin Johnson [lions], that’s something I’m used to in the past. Just guys believing in me.”

“You make plays like that, you build confidence in each other, you get a little snowball effect. We didn’t get that this year, and it’s disappointing.”

So, I'm thinking HELL YEAH!!!  Tell 'em Marshall.  Tell 'em to take the reigns off of Chad.  Tell 'em to forget about all this nonsense about "minus plays" and tell 'em to just throw you the damn ball and see if you can catch it.  This is Chad's biggest problem, he's afraid to make the tough throw because he's afraid Tony is gonna give him another "minus play" because he should have checked the ball down because Brandon is double covered.  That's BULLSHIT.  Go screw yourself Tony.  Screw this "Take what they give us approach."  That's BULLSHIT, because it doesn't work.  That's allowing the defense to dictate the game which allows them to force you to kick FG's instead of getting TD's.  How about a little "Here's what we got, try to stop it!, consequences be DAMNED"  That's what I want.  That's what Brandon wants, because he's seen it work when he was at Denver.  Henne saw it work at Michigan.  We all have.  Just not here because we have an ultra-conservative head coach.  Take the damn reigns off the offense!

And if you don't believe that he was talking about the offensive philosophy rather than Chad, then look what he says here.

When told Henning recently said Marshall’s output remains in the 11.5-yard average area he’s typically posted in the past — actually Marshall’s average has dropped from 15.5 as a rookie to 13.0, 12.2, 11.1 and this year’s 11.3 — the receiver seemed to disagree that was his ceiling.

“I wouldn’t place that stigma on me: ‘That’s my history,’ ” Marshall said. “Put in the right situation, I’m sure I can be a guy to average 15-16 yards a catch. I don’t see why not. Just throw it up, and I’ll go get it. I don’t care if there’s one guy on me or two guys on me. There’s no excuse for that. Just got to take advantage of what I’m blessed with, my body and my ability.”

The fact of the matter is that not only does the Dolphins braintrust not believe in Henne, they don't believe in Marshall either.  They don't think they can do it.  Marshall is telling you right here clear as day what is wrong.  That Henning and Sparano don't have any faith in him and Henne to just throw him the damn ball because "it's not the right read".  And it won't ever be as long as Henning and Sparano are coaching the Dolphins.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

At this point, regardless if it's the play calling or if it's Henne (you know which one I think it is). Do you think Henne can make the right read on a consistent basis ? I'm not convinced he can. He has done it sporadically, but not enough to justify not getting some serious competition in the offseason. Hell, given his play, him and Thiggy should have been swapping quarters the last 4 games of the season. Thigpen should be in on all WC formations anyhow.
