Alright.... Who's out there to be had? I don't know if I would go big name like Billick. Anyone know of a rising genius on one of these other teams? The way Ross works maybe we can get Marino to come back and call plays?

John Garret the tight ends coach of the Cowboys is being talked about. But you would think Jason Garrett would want his brother around. But since Jason calls the plays, maybe John would want out. I would be 100% against this move. Enough of the Cowboys cast offs. It hasn't worked yet for us.

Fins WR coach Karl Dorrell seems to be the front runner. Know nothing about the guy but that he is here now and I don't see this as a huge upgrade or anything that will light the world on fire.

It won't be McDaniels (he hates Marshall and Nolan). I would be shocked if its Brad Childress cause that means we are going to a west coast offense. Billick isn't taking an OC job, although he should and be a head coach in waiting once Sparano gets fired at some point. I don't see us taking a big name and I don't see a big name wanting to work for Ross anyway so.

It's not who i'd want, but my guess is they bring in Chris Palmer or promote Dorrell from within

Another TE coach up for Fins OC job

Dolphins Offense-TM-Dolphins Jan. 10 - 8:26 pm et

The Dolphins have reportedly received permission to interview Chargers TEs coach Rob Chudzinski for their offensive coordinator vacancy.

Chudzinski, whose contract is up in San Diego, has also been linked to Carolina with Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera headed there. "Chud" flamed out as an offensive coordinator in Cleveland a few years back, but is still considered a quality, young coach with a bright future. He called the plays during Derek Anderson's 29-touchdown season in 2007.

I don't want Brad Childress.

We need a Don Coryell/Mike Martz type.  Somebody who can be inventive as needed and can innovate and work with what we have.

I just hope it's somebody who actually plays to win. I swear that Johnson, Wannstedt, and Sparano actually think offense is evil.  They consistently ran the most vanilla, predictable, stupid offenses I've ever seen. That's why we're the field goal champions.  They always try the overly conservative, "there's no harm in punting" nonsense that never did anything but ensure that we would never go to another Super Bowl.   Even the Bills look down on us.  After they beat us, several of them explained that it's easy to stop our offense because we always go for field goals instead of touchdowns.

Agreed.  I'd rather be aggressive and lose because of an interception, than lose a close game with FG's.  Can someone tell me the last game the Fins went out and dominated an opposing team??  The Fins have been sweating out wins for the last decade.

You don't want Marino to call the plays.  At their offensive height, Don Strock called the plays.  Don't believe me?  Ask Don Shula.  It was on NFL network when they did the 10 greatest backups show.

Speaking of which, Don Strock was a coach in the Arena league.  Why the hell didin't we get him to call the plays?
