http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81d91bb5/article/cowboys-like-nolan-for-dc-but-bowles-most-likely-to-land-job

Dallas wants to sign Mike Nolan to be defensive coordinator but since its a lateral move they are finding it tough to find a way to make it work (and clearly Nolan wants out of Miami or this wouldn't even be a story. I mean he has obviously talked to Dallas about this or else Dallas wouldn't know he has interest in the job and be trying to make it work. This is why when you say, what is the big deal with last weeks news Ross did nothing wrong. NOW, nobody wants to be in Miami and work for this lunatic Ross after they see the way he treats people. Sparano is pissed and a whore for the money, Nolan is clearly looking to bail first chance he gets, its a trainwreck)

Cowboys won't be able to take Nolan unless Miami lets him leave. But they are taking our assistant head coach and secondary coach Todd Bowles to be their defensive coordinator as the back-up plan.

Yes, Nolan "wants to bail" on Miami... because Ross made keeping Nolan a condition of any new coach coming in (purportedly, along with keeping Ireland, the reason why Cowher didn't want to come here).

Maybe Nolan wants to leave because he prefers not to work for Sparano.  That position is just as valid as the one you made up.

spin it any way you want, bottom line is nobody wants to be in Miami these days. It's a trainwreck because of the owners actions.

^^^^ Ross flat out said he didn't speak to either Cowher or Gruden... Basicly accusing media of making things up. If that's the case then he didn't "protect" Nolan in any agreement as he also said he never offered Harbough the job.

From the outside looking in the Cowboys job is probably more stable for longer than the Dolphins at this point.

Ross said nobody in the Dolphins organization talked to Cowher or Gruden. Carl Petterson doesn't collect a check from the Miami Dolphins. And it was reported everywhere and not denied once aby either coach or any party involved that Petterson contacted both Cowher and Gruden talking about the Miami job. So is Ross "technically" lying.....no. But Ross had someone talk to Cowher and Gruden about the Fins.  Just not anyone on the dolphins payroll.

Where in that article did it say that Nolan wanted to be a Cowboy?  All it says is that Garrett would like Nolan.  No shit.  I'd like to have Peyton Manning at QB for the Dolphins too.  That doesn't mean that Peyton is considering coming to the Dolphins.  You are really reaching that Nolan isn't happy in Miami.

The media said Carl Petterson was on the plane with Ross and Ireland but apprently he wasn't according to Dave Hyde. Dave Hyde also confirmed that Cowher and Gruden denied anyone talking to them.

Here is how these things get started:

Pappy13 posts, "I would love Peyton to be the Dolphin's QB" on an obscure Dolphin's fan message board.

Miami-Herald reporter asks Peyton, "Would you consider coming to Miami?"

Peyton responds, "I haven't ruled anything out or anything in"

Miami-Herald has headline, "Peyton doesn't rule out playing for the Dolphins"

PFT links to the same story with headline, "Peyton considering playing for the Dolphins"

MikeO post with no attribution claiming everyone is talking about it. "Peyton and Dolphins are on the verge of coming to terms, deal should be announced tomorrow"

Tepop complains about the salary cap ramifications.

Mike Nolan and other Fins defensive coaches want out of Miami

It's been reliably reported to me that Dolphins defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and some of his staff would like to work their way from Miami to Dallas to join Jason Garrett. League rules prevent this from happening, but the power of persuasive talk might work. …

I finally got to watch the press conference and it doesn't look to me that Sparano or Ireland want to be here either.
