I got a camera for Christmas.  It's not an SLR, but it's capable of taking good pictures and I think we should start the content again.  The trouble is, I don't know dick about photography and I need someone with an eye to make suggestions.

You down?

I'm down, but we'll have to wait until after I file my tax return. I still havent replaced my stolen camera gear.   Sad

EDIT: Unless you'll let me use old photos until I get new gear.

I haven't taken a good photo since July.  Sad

In the meantime, you can post some pics, and I could give suggestions if you want. What kind of camera did you get?

I'll probably be in, if the subject that we're trying to shoot is interesting, and I have an idea....

I think that's gonna be the hardest part, coming up with subjects that can be done everywhere, and not give some people an advantage over another.....

I liked the idea of the "repeating " one....It can be in nature,or set up.....

Brian, Sportschick, I'd go with you, but I'd need some hand holding.  I don't know squat about photography.  Maybe we can do a day of photos/geocaching.  Go out on some trails or something.

I'm actually going to shop this time. I'm going to look at Canon, and Sony as well as Nikon since the jerk got everything but my tripod. Not exactly sure yet. Depending on which model you got, you may have manual controls on it. That is the first step in those gorgeous photos, knowing your manual controls. I usually shoot in shutter priority mode, unless I'm in low light. Then, I'll switch to aperture priority. But, believe it or not, the best advice I can give you to start with is to get a tripod. You'd be surprised how much difference it makes.
