Spinoff-o-rama from the Dark Tower thread...

Frimp mentioned Eyes of the Dragon, an early-early King story, and I mentioned the Thomas Covenant series. What are some of the books or book series that you'd like to see Hollywood take a shot at?

A few others that could be cool...

Asimov's "Foundation" series. I could see Tim Robbins as Hari Seldon easy...

Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" series. If done right, it could be an ultimate sci-fi monster. Rumors circulated for a while that it was going to pre-production, but think that died a quick death.

Frank Herbert's "Destination: Void" series (Jesus Incident, Lazarus Effect, etc...). Just for the creature effects and the raw brutality of the "original" planet Pandora, which makes James Cameron's version look like a Mickey-D's playground.

Darkfall by Koontz would be a good one if done right. If done wrong, it would be as bad as King's Desperation movie.

Any Vince Flynn book.  He's one of my favorite authors.  The Mitch Rapp series would be great as action/spy films.

More often than not, if a book I have read is made into a movie, they completely eff it up.  LOTR was an exception.

The Dragonlance series.  Could be epic like LOTR or they could ef it up big time if rushed.

World War Z - Max Brooks
Survivor - Chuck Palahniuk

Both were owned by studios at one point and talking about being made.  I think that WWZ might still be in the production pipeline, but it's not gone anywhere for a while.

Chuck P's Invisible Monsters would also be a good one.

There's a BOAT LOAD of books in that series... I'm assuming you are referring to the original trilogy or two by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman?

I was actually more of a fan of the Minotaur wars, but I think you'd have to go with the original trilogy first.

Agree with Dave... World War Z would make for an epic movie, if done right.

There is a fantasy series by an author named Stephen K. Brust called Dragaera that has been going for 25+ years now...I think the first 4 books in that series would make for a bitchin' movie as well.
