Owner of the Rangers and Knicks. He is redoing MSG with money out of his own pocket.

And now he announced he will have NO PSL's in the new MSG! He will raise ticket prices, but have no PSL's.

Guy is paying for his own stadium to be rebuilt (no taxpayer money) and not doing PSL's....he should be SI's Sportsman of the Year!! Seriously!

I saw somewhere that ticket prices will go up 48%. That number seems too high to be true, but if so, there goes the "out of his own pocket" part.

Yeah its high, but at least he isn't forcing people into one-sided PSL deals that lock them in for 10 years or life. He raised the prices, but still. No PSL contracts of any sort.

Well, renovating Madison Square Garden isn't like building a new Football or Baseball Stadium.  In addition to hosting the Knicks and Rangers, it's an iconic Arena that holds many other events, and therefore has many revenue streams.

James Dolan isn't doing this out of HIS pocket. Dolan is the CEO of a conglomerate, MSG, Inc. which owns the sports teams, the garden, and other venues. This is nothing like having Ross or any other individual owner say the money is coming out of their pocket. This is actually coming out of a corporations pocket.

^^^ Oh no, I'm sure Mr. Dolan is pulling out his wallet and paying for it out of his personal savings... He'll just have to eat a lot of top ramen and microwave burritos until the renovations are complete. Wink

Once again you miss the big picture and have no clue as to what is being talked about. THE POINT IS He isn't using tax dollars. He isn't fleecing the general public who probaly 90% don't ever step foot into MSG. He is doing it himself with his money and his businesses. The way Joe Robbie did it back in the day. The way IT OUGHT TO BE DONE!!

He didn't go run to the politicans and say..."gimmie, gimmie, gimmie". He went and paid for it himself. With money he earns through is businesses! Not tax money. GET IT? GOT IT? GOOD!!

Nope, I didn't miss that point. As with a number of your facts, I just set the record straight that he wasn't doing this out of his pocket as you has explained.

Of course he doesn't, because if he disagrees with you on anything, he's obviously wrong and misinformed...and probably evil. He should be shouted at in all caps and informed that his clue cupboard is bare.

Or...perhaps you could just chill out a little.
