I hate cell phones....

I've gone though 2 cell phones this week,both have almost the same problem...And they're gonna bankrupt me....

I've spent $380 on a used Blackberry Torch....$30 on a case,and and screen protector (that will come tomorrow)...

Got the Torch today,Charged the battery, Installed the Blackberry software..a couple of hours later got the Blackberry synced to the computer....In the software it allows me to add or remove programs on the phone...Cool!, I don't have to do it manually...(I have no need for Facebook,Twitter,Messenger,etc) So It says it will take awhile...I sit down to watch some T.V.,and hour later I walk back to the the screen isWhite...Error 507....I spend the next 3 hours downloading,installing a new copy of the OS,Googling all the tips and tricks,to get the software to see the phone...No battery,battery ...I never could find the file they told me to delete,so I didn't do that....

Finally,one time..It finds the phone,and asks if I want to download he update for my phone!...It starts downloading....about 5 minutes in...It loses it's connection...

I didn't even make single call with the phone.... ...

Sorry to hear you're having problems.  I'd recommend taking it to the local AT&T store and having them reflash it from scratch.  Sounds like its a software problem - something mucked up in the OS. 

If you can get the phone to register on the AT&T network, you may want to try to let it upgrade wirelessly overnight.  Or, did you download the latest Blackberry Desktop for your PC?  Its free software from blackberry.com, and is the best way to get your phone upgraded.

Do you know what "error 507" is?

Also, just out of curiosity, where did you buy the phone from?  Is it a factory refurb or eBay?

At&T will reflash it?..I'm afraid it's bricked.....I don't have a monthly plan through At&T,I'm like a Go phone account pay per minute...My local store, they've rarely done anything, unless it had to do with service...

It doesn't even boot,I see the blackberry logo,then the white bar running across the bottom,about 3/4 of the way the screen goes white...It has a little square with  with a circle around it crossed out,then Error 507 need to reload software then Blackberry's website /507....(I started to take a picture of it, but my camera battery is dead)

I've downloaded a new copy of the OS,through Blackberry,It loads the same Blackberry desktop connect software (that caused the problem!)....It doesn't find the phone...Then when it does find find it, I have to retry it like 6 times...It then says there is a newer version of your software,do you want to update?..It starts to load it,but after a couple of minutes,it loses connection with the phone....

I have the cable plugged directly into the computer USB,I've tried different cables,different USB ports,Battery in,battery out....As soon as it get's the part with "JVM" it loses connection....

Ebay.... .....Unfortunately the refurbs started at $500,and went up...

dude if its a brick anyway and worthless to you, send it to me and I will have it fixed and repaired to be brand new.  Your decision.  Hate to see you waste the money.

Sometimes, when you buy phones off eBay its because something is wrong with them and people sell broken phones all the time.  You could try to get your money back from the guy...

Problem is that when upgrading the OS, it HAS TO FINISH.  If it is interrupted in any way, it could ruin the file structure.  But - I'm certain that the software engineers in my office can fix it for you.

Unless you wanna keep trying.  Maybe you can use an old phone until I can get it back to you?  Totally your call.  PM me if you want me to take care of it...
