We have had the next inductee ready for a while.   We just slack ass here and don't do what we're supposed to.  I'll talk to my brother again.  In short, no, it shouldn't.  The driving factor for ROD nominations is lazyness.

Brian,

Who is the 2nd most successful coach in Miami Dolphins history?  Consider your answer carefully.

I would also the fact that of all the Miami coaches, only one was a straight-up liar.  That earns Saban bonus points.

Did you deduct a couple of points for facial hair run amok?

Spider,
While I respect your stance on win/loss record, I dispute the effect on the Stache's reign of terror.  Wanny inherited an amazing defense, built by his mentor and friend, and left in his lap.  He was never able to take that team to the next level, and did nothing in the mean time to set up the franchise for prolonged success.  His drafting was laughable (Wade Smith, Eddie Moore, Jamar Fletcher, et al), which contributed to putting the franchise into the tailspin we are currently "enjoying."

So, while I appreciate your overall distaste for a lying asshole bitch who should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell for eternity, I feel that Wanny's negative effects cast upon the franchise are far more long-lasting and poisonous to the team (in the long term) than that of Satan...err....Saban.

- I disagree that Wanny took the team to the next level.  He took MIA exactly one step further than Jimmy: from perpetual wild-card to back-to-back division champs.
- Wanny's drafting (Carey, Bell, Chambers) was better than Saban's (Brown, Crowder, J.Allen)... with worse picks, mind you.  In fact, next year we are likely to have more Wanny draftees on the team than Saban draftees!
- Wanny traded for a RB that led the league in rushing yards.  Saban traded for Daunte Culpepper.
- And ultimately, when it comes to personnel decisions: Saban turned away Drew Brees and passed on Aaron Rodgers (not that I necessarily disagreed with those decisions at the time they were made, but Facts Is Facts, as they say).

Wanny did more damage to the franchise?  Sorry, I don't see it.

I would be happy with a Wanny or a $aban induction. Although I do find myself with a lot more resentment towards $aban these days.

Spider Dan makes convincing arguments.

However, Wanny was maligned by fans.  People wanted him gone when he was here.

Saban left, after a diatribe of lies and deceit, and people were mad that he was gone.

That's gotta say SOMETHING.

^^ I disagree with that statement.

Fans were clamoring for JJ during the Shula era.  They were saying bad things about Shula because they had delusions of grandeur that Jimmy could bring the Fins to the promised land, maybe multiple times.  With a guy like that available and interested, who wouldn't poo-poo their hall of fame octogenarian in hopes of new blood and Lombardi trophies?

Besides, I think you'd agree that if anyone used the word "hall of fame" to describe Dave Wannstedt, you'd likely laugh in their face.  The winningest coach in NFL history, with multiple super bowls under his belt (as a head coach), gets a free pass from me for a few sub-standard seasons at the end of his illustrious career.
