That's an awful lot of money to pay somebody just to return kicks and fumble the ball.

NO. That's different. I wouldn't trade for an older WR. But as a FA to add to the mix, I would take him
That's my point.  He's not better than Bess.

The Ochocinco of 2011 does nothing for this team.  He's a slower Marshall without the YAC threat.

Ochocinco might be going to the hall of fame one day. Bess won't even be considered. Ochocinco is a better WR than Bess. To think otherwise is foolish. That isn't a knock on Bess either. Chad is on another level even in the year 2011

Ochocinco is a HOF candidate.  I will agree with that.  Ochocinco at his peak is better than Bess. No doubt.  Ochocince is better than Bess in 2011.  I'll have to go with Spider Dan on that one.  Yeah, he's still good, but not worth the price tag or the distractions he brings.

I'm sorry, are we acquiring players based on Hall of Fame likelihood now?  Someone get the agents for Jason Taylor and Donovan McNabb on the phone!

Ochocinco WAS a better WR than Bess.  WAS.  He IS not now.

Nobody said that at all. Don't put words in the mouths of others. But Ochocinco WAS, IS, and probably always WILL BE a better player than Bess

When you said, "Ochocinco might be going to the hall of fame one day. Bess won't even be considered. Ochocinco is a better WR than Bess," what was the point you were making? What does the HOF have to do with how good a player is today?
