some people had this kid as the #1 RB in the draft.

I like him more than Ingram. We needed a RB and a playmaker. HOpefully this kid works out.

I don't mind the pick, because we didn't give up any picks in next years draft to move up....

It makes me think Ronnie Brown...6' 230lbs...

This kid has better speed than Ronnie.

Thomas ran a 4.6/40..which isn't great, but speed isn't his game, he's a very physical RB.  Free angency would prvoide his compliment (a la DeAngelo Williams, or Reggie Bush, hell maybe later in the draft they could get a speedster) I wanted Taiwan Jones in the 3rd round..4.27/40 and draws countless comparisons to Chris Johnson (except stronger)..that was the sexy pick for me, but I can't complain with this because the RB need was addressed and I love the direction this draft is going so far.

How is he at catching the ball out of the backfield though?

He does have an issue with holding onto the ball though. 11 fumbles this season

Few reports I saw said he is a very underrated receiving RB. All in all, I am quite happy with our 2 picks. In all honesty, if Oderick is healthy it's almost as if we had 3 picks in this draft.

Now, if only we had a QB.

Don't forget about LB AJ Edds who missed all of last year too. He was known for his speed and special team ability. He will be a LB who can help us in the nickle a lot. Hopefully the 1 year off didn't put some rust on his game though.

I don't like this at all.  It seems Jeff Ireland is talking out of his ass when he mentions getting speed and downfield ability at the skill positions, then he butchers his draft to move up to take another Ronnie Brown.  I would've rather given Lex Hilliard a shot than draft this slug.

To add insult to injury, the Pats took Ryan Mallett.

Mallett will be out of the league in 3 years.  He is more interested in partying than working.  In college, he was able to get away with it because raw talent is enough to get you by.  In the NFL, you actually have to work at your game and use your brain (especially at QB).  He is also a malcontent in the locker room.  Ya know how you can walk into a club or bar and immediately spot "the douche" in the crowd.  That would be Mallett.
