Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry mature. And he wonders why he slipped to the third round. Payback? In what...ten years when he actually gets on the field? -EK

The only problem I have with Mallet saying anything like this (you hear this story from someone every year) is that barring injury, he won't be stepping on the field for the Pats anytime soon. He should have considered that before making such a foolish comment.

^^^ Maybe BB will let him run up the score in the fourth quarter of a blow out.

Mallett is going to have a frustrating time.  If he had been drafted by the Dolphins he would getting ready to compete with Henne for the starting job, with the Patriots, barring an injury, he will be lucky to see some garbage time.  As long as his frustration and anger is directed at 31 other teams and not BB and Brady, I am happy.

Does he also vow "payback" on the 30 other teams that passed on him 2 or 3 times in the draft?  This is ridiculous.

What a punk.

I expect Mallett's Miami payback to be just as tangible as Dan Gilbert's curse on Miami.

He doesn't claim the other teams said they were trading up for him and actually took another player though.

And who the hell is Dan Gilbert??  My sentiments exactly.

Love the hateraid. He's just pissed because he was looking forward to the South Beach nightlife, warm weather all the time, and girls.

Mallett apparently isn't very bright either.  Running his mouth and being a punk is exactly why teams passed on him.  So he is going to "pay them back" because they recognized he is the kind of idiot who would say things like "pay them back".   Rookies should always keep their mouths shut and their ears open.  Especially when they haven't even stepped onto an NFL field yet.

Hey Mallet!  Nobody that wanted you would have had to trade up to get you.  You were passed by every team (some more times than others) before you were finally drafted, ya jackwagon.

Pretty overblown, imo... It's not like Mallett said it to the press, he was with his dad, made an off-hand comment, and then dad went and blabbed it to the press.

Interfering parent makes me even more happy we did not draft him.

I'll even stop short of throwing a flag for parental interference. Probably just a reporter who caught Mallett's dad with the right question at the right time to get an answer that could be spun into a story.
