Apparently he had surgery to have a torn ACL repaired, but I hadn't heard that he injured it.  It sounds like he's covering it up.

He's a 37 year old WR planning to come back next season.  Is he done?  I think he can still play at a high level but, as a free agent, with no team, an aging body, and a torn ACL, who would take a chance on him? 

Maybe he'd be a good fit in Minnesota...?

I don't think he'll be a good fit anywhere.  Even if he plays well, I don't think he'll fit.

Depends on the price.  With the lockout, teams might do more filling in with aging vets that don't need camp, than roll the dice rookie UDFA that they don't have the time to prep.

Wow - why all the hate for TO?  The guy is a physical specimen and a hard worker.  I'd think that's what you want for players on your team.  Sure he is arrogant, but he's not the worst in the league.  Hell, he wasn't even the worst on his team last season.

^^^ Agree.  WR is a tough position from a PR perspective.

QB: "when the game is on the line i want the ball in my hands, in the pocket finding the open receiver; as far as I am concerned we can pass the ball on every play"  --- everyone calls him a born leader with confidence. 

RB: "when the game is on the line I want the ball in my hands, I will pound the hole and make the play; as far as I am concerned we can run the ball on every play."  -- everyone calls him a born leader with confidence.

WR: "when the game is on the line I want the ball thrown in my direction I will make the catch; as far as I am concerned every play the ball should be thrown to me"  -- everyone calls him a selfish diva with no sense of team

Arrogance aside, he has Hall of Fame numbers.  However, with a torn ACL and his age...stick a fork in 'em, he's done.  He'll probably catch on to team for a limited time, but he'll be irrelevent.

As a 49ers fan, it's because he lied, cried and manipulated his way out of San Francisco so that we lost arguably the top WR in the league, at the peak of his prime, without getting "anything" in return.

T.O could spend the next twenty years fighting Al-Qaeda and putting up malaria nets in third world countries, and I'd still think of him as "Scum of the Earth #1."

This is quite a bit of difference than what TO traditionally did though. In addition to saying he wanted the ball (nothing wrong) it was his calling out of teammates and staff that is the issue. You didn't go nearly far enough in making an accurate description.

Peyton Manning has throws more team mates under the bus each season than TO has done in his career.

I had to duck because that deflection came at me so fast. I admit I don't follow player interviews, but from what I have seen of Manning he can be quite careful in the way he puts things.

He might end up back in Buffalo (come mid-november). That team is grasping at straws to sell tickets in a tough economy.

Not likely, he hated the cold in Buffalo.  He'd skip practice for the week saying he was injured, while spending the week across the border in Toronto gambling, then show up for the game and run half-a$$ed routes.  The Buffalo fans in the stands were booing him by the end of his stint there.

Yep! The Bills make all the sense in the world. The team will be dead and by November they will be "out of it". They will want someone to sell a few tickets for those meaningless home games late in the year. TO helps with that. Bottom line is not a lot of teams are gonna be lined up for a 36 year old WR coming off major knee surgery. Teams didn't want TO when he was healthy the past couple years. It took the BIlls and Bengals which are considered "NFL JAIL" to players to sign him. No self respecting franchise wanted him. Those are the only types of teams that will sign him now, if anyone signs him. TO to Buffalo makes all the sense in the world. They know what he's about, he knows what the city is about. Put in your time for the final 6 games or so and cash an easy paycheck
