I have always loved the Homerun Derby and my wife who is a bigger baseball fan than I does as well. We watch it every year on TV and we look forward to it as the best part of allstar weekend. This year the game is being held here in AZ so for our anniversary I bought 2 tickets to go sit in the left center field bleachers and surprised my wife with them. It's kind of ridiculous what they charge you to sit in seats that are normally about $15.00 during the season but I think it was well worth it. I could have skimped on the cost and sat in the nosebleeds but if I am going I want to be down in the foray where all the balls are being hit. Has anyone here gone to one of these events before? If so let me know your thoughts as to how it went. We are both stoked and for the first time in my life I am looking forward to a Monday!!!!!

You should wear a funny hat so we can spot you on TV.

Still can't believe that Fielder selected Rickie Weeks for the NL HR Derby squad...what a maroon.

Good Idea. I do not own a funny hat but I will try to come up with something.

Yeah I was not to thrilled with that either I was happy he took my boy Kemp from the Dodgers but I was hoping to see him take J-UP from the home team!!!!! On a side note I am looking forward to Fielder and Big Papi hitting some moonshots!!!!!

I'd imagine, just a guy wearing a Miami Dolphins cap in Arizona at the Home run Derby, might be somewhat easy to spot.... Cheesy

Congrats, I hope you have a blast Az!

Well were you sitting anywhere near the idiot who almost killed himself going after one of the balls.  Amazing that just days after the Ranger fan died that this jerk stood up on a table above the railing to catch a baseball.

No that was in right center right above the pool. I did see it but I was in left center. Outside of the fact that all the right handed hitters pretty much sucked nuts yesterday and most of us in left field were just there to spectate as it was an all lefty final four it was simply amazing to be there in person.
