this is going to be a quick one because of the chaos that is upon us, but who would you like to see Miami sign in Free Agency (now that it's actually here):

I would honestly be content with the signings of Darren Sproles and/or Leonard Davis

Sproles could be the perfect compliment to Thomas and Hilliard as the fast scat/change of pace back and can also man the return duties better than anyone on our current roster..he's going to do the same things and Reggie Bush, but at a far cheaper price.

Leonard Davis was just recently cut by the Cowboys in a cost cutting move so they can attempt to sign Nnamdi Asomugha..he's a little up there in age (32) but he's still a beast on the right side of the line and I think could solidify our offensive line for a few years.  Sparano was Davis's O Line coach in Dallas in 2007 when Davis made his first Pro Bowl (and has made them ever since).  Just another Dallas/Miami connection to throw in there.

Who do you want to see get signed?

^^^ i would agree on going after the change of pace back, but apparently this regime drafted a running back, with a high pick nonetheless, that will require another "workhouse" back in free agency to split starter carries.

davis would make sense too at the right price...

^^ I wouldn't mind giving Tashard Choice a shot if he becomes available. Here's a good article on him.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-cowboys/headlines/20110505-sturm_s-cowboys-analysis-draft-changes-choice_s-status-in-dallas.ece

He had a down year in 2010, but it seems he needs a change of scenery. I have watched him run and he's more elusive than you would think. Not really fast, but more of a "quick" guy and still large enough to be your #1 back if need be. He's only 27 and only 222 caries to his name. Lots of upside, very little downside if he's cut from the Dallas roster.

^^ Well they drafted Demarco Murray and his production and playing time dipped significantly last year, so it's a possibility depending on who else they sign. With Sparano's/Ireland's ties to the Cowboys, he also might be available in a trade pretty cheap.

Not too interested in Davis myself.  We already have a ton of money tied up in that line.  But if the price is better than expected I would be happy with the upgrade.  I am a little worried about Carey who seemed out of shape last year and is a bit pricey for a guy who has been getting dinged up lately.  I think the sentinel was reporting that Columbo (Dallas) could be a replacement option for Carey.  I would be pretty happy with that move.

Best free agent options are at running back, IMO.  Bradshaw, Bush, DeAngelo Williams would do but I think cuts need to be made first.

It would be interesting to see if we could get a good tight end like Heap who is potential to be released.  I might settle for Boss out of New York if cost is reasonable.

I wish we knew if that drafted receiver was a true return game candidate, if not we need to address that with someone.  Sheets was being primed for that role before his injury.  Bush and Sproles have potential in filling some of that need but I get the feeling Sproles is headed for a down turn to his career.

QB is priority #1, but the free agent options kinda suck (too many guys with consistency issues).  Looks like we either trade for a legit competitor for the starting role or we sign a guy that will automatically go into the back up role.  I don't love any of the options.  If I had to pick a free agent to sign, I suppose I would look at Young combined with some prayer.  My preference is to get Thigpen back, but it sounds like the market for him is very big and we aren't really even on his list.

I will admit that I have not watched Davis since he left the Cardinals but one major thing I remember of him was Mr. False Start. That dude was constantly being flagged and killing drives. He is a beast and I hope that in his time with Dallas he was able to fix that problem.

Saw a report that Miami might be interested in Marion Barber...

Just say no to Marion Barber. He runs hard, but he has nothing beyond that and when that started to take a toll on his body he had nothing to offer. He was good 1 year as a late game substitute when he was fresh and the defense was tired. Other than that, he's got nothing.

MB3 was good when
a) Julius Jones took 20 carries a game, and he only came in for 2 yard TD runs
b) closing out games when they needed a good 3-4 yards every play at the end of a game

Outside of that, no thank you.

DeAngelo or bust!

DeAngelo Williams reportedly agreed to a 5 year, $43m contract with CAR.

Bring on Reggie Bush.

I agree.  Reggie Bush was my #2 hope.  Hate it that we have to wait on this one.  I wouldn't be shocked if they got Bradshaw and he would be my #3 hope.

After that, go after either Ricky or Ronnie or hope Sheets, Cobbs and Hilliard can get us by until the rookie can pass protect.

I hope the Dolphins stop picking up every piece of crap that the Cowboys cut loose.  They have done this for years now.  If there is a god in heaven, the Fins will steer clear of Roy Williams.  What an absolute abortion of a football player.  And a certified nut job on top of that.
