Jason Taylor, Tiki Barber, and now Brett Favre.

This team would be awesome in 2005. 6 years too late.

I know its just a goofy colum by David Hyde, but nothing surprises me with this group anymore. NOTHING!!  IF that notion were to be even entertained, Ross has to put Ireland/Sparano out of their misery like NOW. Give Nolan the head coaching job. Let Carl Peterson run the GM job for a year. Tell him pretty much do nothing at this point. Just handle the day to day paperwork stuff and do nothing.

Bringing back a lame duck coach and GM has killed this organization. Considering Tiki Baber, signing Marc Colombo, are you kidding me?! We are under the cap and we do nothing. Not giving Solai a long-term deal to reduce his cap number almost in half to free up some SERIOUS cap space. What does Ireland do all day? Just watch film on recently released offensive linemen to see if they are worth signing? Oh wait, we just see who Dallas cuts and then pick up the phone and sign them.

Favre as the starter
Marino as the older backup
Tarkenton as the veteran backup.

Sure, why not. Wink

Agreed.  Favre doesn't have much left in the tank.

But even with Favre putting the ball up for grabs half the time, he still gives this team a better chance to win than Henne.

Wait a minute...some of you would consider practically the only guy in the NFL last year with a worse TD/INT ratio than Henne? That's called crazy.

That is not completely true.

There were four QBs with worse TD/Int ratios than Henne that threw enough passes to get a rating for the seaons....

Matt Hasselbeck
Derek Anderson
Brett Favre
Jimmy Clausen

Coincidentally, two of those guys were rumored to be prospects for a Dolphins gig until they (fortunately) got snapped up. Considering that the third is retired and the fourth not available, that's impressive.

could this really be something the team is considering??

omar kelly's article is pretty interesting -> http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-brett-favre-miami-dolphins-07711,0,3172323.story

i mean it certainly seems like the dolphins are not happy right now with the qb position:

=====================================

"I can't rule anything out," coach Tony Sparano said when asked directly about a column the Sun-Sentinel published, advocating on Favre's behalf.

Sparano acknowledged that the former Michigan standout, who is entering the final year of his contract, is the team's starting quarterback "right now."

When asked if the team's finished hunting for a quarterback Sparano didn't even try to sidestep the question."We always have our eyes open," Sparano said, "and are always exploring possibilities."
=====================================

this season is building up to be a train wreck.

this season is building up to be a train wreck.

The season was over in January. We should have overpaid for Harbaugh or just fired Sparano. The ONLY thing we couldn't do is bring Sparano back.

We have a head coach fighting for his job who needs to win at all costs. YET, the GM fighting for his job is being judged on his moves. So if he makes stupid moves (win at all cost moves) he won't get another GM job ever again. Ireland would rather be a smart GM, have the Fins lose, so if he gets fired he can say....not my fault!! I was a good GM who didn't overpay for this or that and valued draft picks. Hence, he sets himself up for his NEXT job.

2 people fighting for the jobs with 2 OPPOSITE philosphy's. IT CAN'T WORK!! IT WON'T WORK!!
