http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/08/16/11/Crowder-says-comeback-is-likely-rips-Hen/landing_dolphins.html?blockID=548876&feedID=3720

Highlights:

"I probably will (return) next year, two years at most," Crowder said on WQAM, where he has served as a host. "Probably next year. See if we have any attention, try to get an offer. But, yeah, I'm out this year.

"Watching the preseason games and all and watching guys mess up and miss tackles, and I'm like, 'This guy sucks, I could beat him out.' "

Sure you would. You, and your 53 tackles from last year. There was a reason you got cut, buddy! -EK

If you were so good, you would have a job right now.  Why is he still on the radio?

None of this should be a surprise, right?

I'm surprised he hadn't said something along this line sooner.

He had several offers including New England didn't he?

I am boring.  Crowders comments are not ripping the Dolphins.  To me, it sounds like he's speaking in generalities.

He doesn't say anything about the Dolphins specifically.  When he watches preseason games, he sees guys mess up (we all do -- they are grossly inexperienced -- most of the guys playing the majority of the game will be cut before the season starts).  He's just saying that he's still better than what he's seeing from the play in preseason.

There's nothing combative about that, in my opinion.

Not to mention that a year out of football will make him even crappier than he was before .. good luck to ya chump!

"Ripping" of the team was supposedly directed at Ireland and Henne. Didn't really appear to be a big deal; if nothing else his assessment of Henne is fair: has the tangibles but not the intangibles. But when you are a loudmouth, everything you say will have a certain slant to it.

I love this:
“I’m going to walk around, and I’m gonna steal everybody’s liquor,” Crowder said of his Sunday tailgating plans. “Six years of playing, I know I deserve a couple drinks at some tailgates. I’m coming to the stadium. I’m coming with no ticket, dead broke. And I’m going to start walking around and see what I can muster up off my stellar personality.”

I wouldn't give him squat

Chicago, NE, Buffalo, and Philly all offered him deals. His wife is giving birth in 2 weeks. He doesn't want to move so he turned them all down

Channing just said what everyone around the league is thinking. Henne can't cut it and Ireland hasn't done much as a GM except piss off Ryan Clark, call Dez Bryant's mom a Hooker and other things that haven't put him in a good light.

Channing didn't say anything too outrageous today

As a Gator alum, he might find a few fans in the parking lots.

I agree as well - but Channing Crowder is not all that much of an NFL player to begin with. Huge mouth, pea-sized brain, and little contribution.

He's a good, normal player.  He talked like a super-star.  But he's still a contributor that can make a roster.

I disagree. Saying how you would make one play after another that our current D didn't make, when you've been cut by said team sounds like sour grapes to me, and is in its very essence outrageous. While his assessment of Henne and Ireland wasn't that far out there, it should be noted that if Crowder played for $hit these past two years, he would n't be in the position to say what he woulda/coulda done in the first place. -EK
