Turns out the former Ohio State standout will be allowed into the supplemental draft, but has earned an automatic five game suspension for the stuff he did while he was in college.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/08/18/terrelle.pryor.supplemental.draft.ap/index.html?xid=siextra_081911

While I don't approve of what Pryor did, I think the NFL has overstepped its boundaries here. This may not even be legal.  Seeing as Pryorwas not employed by the NFL when these wrongdoings occurred, this would not fit into the personal conduct policy, unless there is something in the new CBA I'm not aware of.

some reports are saying Pryor and Rosenhaus made this deal and brough it to the NFL because technically Pryor wasn't eligable for the Suplemental Draft. So by making this deal the NFL let him enter the draft.

NFL helped Pryor instead of punish him really

^^^^ I saw on ESPN tonight that Pryor plans on appealing the suspension so I am not sure that is the case.

Exactly my point.  If the NFL is going to do this to Pryor, why not do something to Reggie Bush?  How about all the Miami players in the NFL that were involved in the Nevin Shapiro scandal?  Also, when it comes out about Auburn, why not go after Cam Newton?

Because none of those players did what Pryor is suspended for. Pryor is suspended because he decided to forego his draft eligibility only then to change his mind and try to usurp the NFL entry process. He isn't suspended for anything to do with his NCAA infactions.

Does start a trip down a slippery slope.  What about coaches??  In the end it's all about the NFL making money, and they think Pryor can fill a few seats late in the season for some team that is already out of the playoff running.  The suspension is just to appease their minor league system, aka NCAA Football.

fidel goodell rules with an iron fist. he will next be changing the nfl shield to a sickle and hammer.

hopefully he applies the same state laws to tressell who is snooping around nfl camps looking for a new job now too.

but its always the migrant workers that get punished in this ncaa scam. the adults all get recycled to higher paying jobs with no penalty.

Gots to side with LShark here.  I scratched my head on this one, too.

I'm suprised that no one has brought up Pryor being taken in the third round by Oakland (no surprise there though). he was the only player taken.

Not surprising at all that the Raiders too him. They're the only ones who would. Pryor said that he isn't going to appeal the suspension

Pryor said that he isn't going to appeal the suspension

Is this a reversal of the reversal? Immediately after the announcement Pryor said he wouldn't, a day later that was retracted and his agent said he would (probably under pressure from the player's association).

I just want to make sure I didn't miss a re-reversal now.
