For all the people who are killing the front office for not pulling the trigger on Orton, I figured I'd make a thread comparing Orton to Henne so far.  I'll try and keep it updated throughout the season, good or bad, to see how it pans out.

I don't take much stock in this.  Preseason doesn't matter all that much, it's when the season actually starts.  BUT....I thought it was interesting looking at Henne vs. Orton in the stat department.  Henne has one more INT than Orton, but has more passing yards and more rushing yards.  Looking at the stats side by side, they are virtually identical.  Like I said, I found it interesting, but take it for what it's worth.

Good one there Tenshot.

Why don't we use this thread to keep track of them during the season as well?

I felt bad that Henne threw the INT as time ran out.

The garbage time INT is offset by the garbage time yards.

182 of hennes yards were when the team was down by 14 or more with under 8 minutes left in the game.

^^^ I wouldn't call yards accumulated when there are eight minutes left in the game, down only two scores, garbage yards.  NE was still playing all out defense up until Welkers 99 yard score.  Maybe 50 yrds or so could be considered "garbage yards".  Heck, 99 of Brady's yards are "garbage" yards.

When MIA is at the NE 1, down by 14, with 8 minutes in the game... that is not "garbage time."

Garbage time didn't really occur until the Welker TD.

well 111 yards passing and 30 of his rushing yards were after welker scored.

And yet Brady and all the starters still came out to continue to play hard and score more. So there was no true garbage time in the game as NE was playing hard until the 2 min mark at least.

And yet the Pats were playing a soft prevent to keep the dolphins from getting it all back on one play, which is why henne was able to scramble for 19 yards.

Ok so he got a few more rushing yards. The point is still the same that the Pats were not going to let the Phins rack up points and make the game closer. That is not how Bill coaches.

They were going to not let any receivers behind them, so they rushed 3 or 4 and dropped the rest into deep coverage which is why Henne completed all those underneath passes.

I saw a lot of drop by Ortons receivers last night....they did not help him much.
