I'm seeing two things that are really our biggest issues when in the red zone.
  • Our offensive line is offensive!  They don't drive people back or off the ball and you constantly see our O-linemen beat in 1 on 1 match-up's.
  • Henne can't throw touch passes!  It's obvious from his bad fade pass last week to Hartline and the bad throw to Bess in the endzone this week.

Most teams would use Marshall on fades once they got into the red zone we don't even attempt them to Marshall....  There are instances where a back shoulder throw would work but you don't even see them attempted with our offense.  I think this says more than anything that Henne still struggles with touch passes.

He has the big arm but hasn't developed the touch to go along with the strong arm.

Yes he struggles with touch throws, but you have to ask why in the world are we still calling them? I don't believe I've seen a rollout or a bootleg and Henne's biggest threat near the goal line has been his legs it's seems.

I'm pretty sure I can come up with something other than fade routes and check with me passes and I'm no offensive coordinator. Get Henne moving. Get the defense moving and have Henne try to find a window to FIRE it into rather than these damn touch passes!

accuracy is the biggest skill a qb needs in the red zone and not necessarily arm strength. it's why accurate qb's like brees, with much less of an arm than henne, can put up so many td's.

not sure henne's accuracy improves if you get him moving, but it couldn't hurt i suppose.

Screw accuracy, tell him to run it in if he can't find anyone open.

I really don't understand how fucking hard it is to throw it up to Brandon Marshall and let him go get it

Have you seen Marshal catch a ball in the endzone? Yeah me neither. 3 weeks 3 missed TD's in the endzone on catchable balls by Marshall!!!!!

^^ Marshall is the most overrated "#1" WR in this league. Forget the off the field stuff, the guy never makes a big play. If we can get anything for him this offseason do the deal. A 3rd round pick, fine, do it. Just move on. I don't think Marlon Moore or Roberto Wallace could be any worse. Once Gates realizes how to use his speed he will be starting for us anyway, over Hartline. Hopefully NEXT year its over Marshall

funny how marshall not catching td passes coincides with a bad starting qb.

marshall is a much better receiver than henne will ever be a qb. not that that is saying much, but still...

Henne throws bad passes to numerous people and makes bad decisions, its not just Marshall that Henne can't get on the same page with

Henne DID throw bad passes to numerous people and make bad decisions.  He throws better passes now, and his decision making is a ton better.  He isn't helping us as much as a stud QB should, but he isn't hurting us as much as a shitty QB would either.  He's slightly above average.
