In the NFL dispute, I sided with players.  The NFL was making money hand over fist and players needed more protection.  I think that the owners had to give a lot to make things fair.

However, I'm on the other side with the NBA.  I think that there needs to be a revised cap, some limitations on payroll, and other tweaks to ensure that all of the teams can make money, while still attempting to be competitive.  It seems that there are some teams that can't make money, period, and others that can only make money by fielding a garbage team and collecting from other owners.  That's not a good system.

Yes, some owners are making booku cash, but others are not.  ...probably needs to be leveled a bit.

These guys are far apart on their demands.  Owners started wanting to give 42.5% to players, and players wanted 57%.  Players dropped to 54% and were willing to go to 53%.  Owners went up to something like 47%.  Then Stern asked if they would be willing to go to 50% and players said it wasn't even worth discussing.
