I actually like this signing.  Sage played pretty well for us a few years ago during the Satan....er Saban era

I don't want our replacement QB playing well...I want our replacement QB to throw pick-6's, trip over his own shoelaces and otherwise suck badly enough to ensure that we don't win more than 1 game the entire season.

He is the right signing for Ireland/Sparano.  Unfortunately, Sage will not "Suck for Luck".  My guess is we end the season with between 5 and 7 wins.  So we will just suck, no luck.

My God, do we need a real QB!  I have no clue how we are ever going to get one.  Now the only luck we can really hope for isn't capitalized.

On a positive note, I think we have just upgraded our QB position twice in the last week.  Moore is definitely more aggressive and Sage has demonstrated he can score points.  Neither are future potential.

Can't we trade for AJ Feely?  He was always good for a pick 6!

Doc-Phin - you are insane.

You think the Dolphins can win b/w 5 and 7 of their next 12 games with a career back-up QB who couldn't even lead the Carolina Panthers to more than 1 victory? Including playing against some tough teams upcoming? After starting 0-4 and barely able to scratch out 16 points in the last 3 games?

Wow. Just wow.

What? Sage isn't nearly as good as Henne and Henne wasn't gonna guide the Dolphins to between 5 and 7 wins this year, not the way the defense was playing.  The defense is gonna have to start living up to their billing to get 5 wins.

Rosenfels, 33, was with the Dolphins in 2002-05. He had a strong preseason for the Giants before a blood disorder sent him to the hospital, but he hasn't thrown a pass in a regular-season game since 2008.

I told you what my guess was.  We will see what happens.

My reasoning has a lot to do with the fact that we have been in every game till around the 4th quarter.  We are getting back Davis, which moves Smith back to the #2 guy.  We are getting back Thomas.  I think we just upgraded at QB in terms of red zone.  Rookies like Gates and Clay will get a little better as we move forward.  Stuff like that is what I am considering.  There will be some horrible games, but there will be some lucky ones that we manage to win.

You guys don't think we will get lucky a few times this year?  My guess is with jobs on the line we squeeze out some wins.  50% may be a little high, but 4 wins would be my minimum.  We have 12 games left and I think we get 5-7 of them.

How about this...  Other than JTex (who always picks zero wins), what is your lowest realistic expectation?  My guess is you would pessimistically pick 2 which means you really think 3 or 4.  Am I really that far off with 5 or 6 and an optimistic 7?

Lastly, I will remind you that I believe Henne was so shitty at two minute drill and red zone that Moore and Sage are actually upgrades at this point.  Pappy believes they are a down grade, it is all opinion really.  But it isn't like I am basing my opinion off of nothing.  We can argue about Moore who seems to have good games and bad games (Carolina).  But Sage can win and his only down side was the choke moments he had in Houston with that ultra shitty defense.  Even our current shitty defense is better than that defense was.

Short of an injury to Moore, Sage doesn't take the field. I don't see why you guys think his signing means anything.

I'm not sure why Sage never got a crack at the starting job to begin with.  They bitched about Fiedler, and Saban cut him.

Daunte Culpecker turned out to be a total pig, but they never once considered benching him until we were 1-4.

Gus Frerotte was the 1-year stopgap and he went to the rams with the guy who was our OC at the time.

Let him have at it.  I think Sage might be worth a three game look.

I'm sure we'll get a chance to see for ourselves soon enough.  Matt Moore has been bitten by the injury bug before.

How low the "Dolfan" has sunk, when we are even questioning the potential of Sage Who?

This guy was out of football....SUCKED and is now our backup.  Really sad...4 games in and the season is done.

NEW EVERYTHING....once again lookng for a miracle for next years draft.
