^^^ No, he got fined for cursing at people in the stands.

Coaches don't do that.

I agree with the league office in that case, Hoodie.

This player has already been fined twice for wearing those shoes (coincidentally, the Bears are 2-0 when he wears them).  If the players believe that his orange shoes give them a better chance to win, a secret player pool to pay his fine is not out of the question (to say nothing of the front office paying it under the table for morale purposes).  So should players be allowed to wear whatever they want if they are willing to pay the fine?

Put another way:  Brian Urlacher decided to wear a Vitamin Water hat during the Super Bowl press conferences.  The league fined him $100k.  I'm sure Vitamin Water paid him much more than $100k.  If this became a trend, what would the NFL do to stop it?

Bennett is simply deciding that he doesn't care what the league fines him.  The NFL has to kick it up a notch and make him care.

You would have NASCAR or a UFC Fighter with guys wearing patches of a bunch of sponsors. I got no problem with the NFL stepping on Urlacher and his hat or Bennett and his shoes

The fine for Fat Rex is totally justified.  You can't curse out your paying customers.  Fat Rex represents not only himself, and not only his team, but the league as a whole.  If I cursed out my customers, I certainly would be repremanded at work.  Any group that wears a uniform knows this.

I agree that he should have been fined, but, I don't think New England fans who actually enjoyed his retort are his paying customers.

^ Sure they are.  Rex works for the NFL, just like everyone else.  Think of the Jets as his "department".

haven't seen the fines in question.  but if you youtube his name, you see some results for flags that look like very clean hits.

NFL will be flag football by the time the new CBA expires..mark my words!

Just ridiculous. ^^^

Does the team pay for these stupid fines or do the players always pay? I saw an article a day or two ago about one team (I think the Titans) saying they don't want their defensive players to worry about fines, instead, they want them to hit the guy with the ball.

Harrison is going to get hit big-time for his cheap shot hit on McCoy. I am sure it will be announced by Monday. But its gonna be huge
