^^However, lets be clear. He wasn't mocking Tebow's religion, he was mocking Tebow. Big difference.

I don't believe that religion deserves any more protection from open mockery than any other unfounded belief, like ghosts or bigfoot.  People are free to believe it, but I think that others are free to ridicule it.

I disagree.  A society has to have a set of moral values, and respect for one another's opinions.  If you can't show respect for your fellow man then what does that say about you?  Like it or not the United States of America was founded in freedom of all religions, it never mentioned ghosts, bigfoot, or anything like that.  We have allowed special interest groups to dumb down America.  Is it really that offensive to put up a jewish minora (sp?) or a christian Christmas symbol on the front lawn of your local City Hall, or is it more about people not wanting others to celebrate their beliefs??

^ I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree, then.

Religion is fine, and it's great that people believe what they do.  However, I think it's healthy and necessary for those that don't believe it to challenge it.  It's when we just accept things as they are when things spiral out of control and religion is used to pervert ideas.

Regarding Tebow, I have no problem with his mockery.  By the way, they aren't mocking Christianity -- that's absurd.  I'm guessing the majority of those mocking him are Christians, anyway.  It's how he chooses to display it and wear it on his sleeve.

and the NFL as an institution is free to fine or suspend players over such mocking as well.

Lions started 3 fights yesterday.
Suh ripped Cutler's helmet off his head
Stafford with a dirty tackle/play on Moore
Fairley with a "spear" penalty on Cutler on the 2nd play of the game

Debate over, this team is dirty and the most hated team in the league!

Suh gets tossed in the Green Bay game for stomping on a guy. I guess he really is a dirty player.

He should get fined at least six figures and benched for the rest of the season.  He's been warned and fined several times and still doesn't listen.

I have been saying it for weeks. The team is dirty, the league has to step in. From their head coach, to their QB, to their entire d-line....the team plays dirty. They are the most unlikable team in the league by a mile.

Suh needs a 4 game suspension after yesterday.

When he ends up in jail in a couple years, no problem.

Got a complaint of racist comments.  Not sure if I see what is racist.  But this thread is going nowhere fast so, I am locking it.
