Near fight between Vontae and Brandon

Davis had to be restrained after Marshall started "talking (trash) and crossed the line," a source with knowledge of the altercation said. The source would not provide specific details of what set off Davis.

"Vontae was about to rip his head off," the source said.

Davis told a few people close to him that he believed he wasn't making the trip to Kansas City as a result of the altercation,

Some guys always seem to find trouble. Not that Vontae is probably innocent in all of this, but he doesn't have the resume Brandon does when it comes to this non-sense and off the field distractions.

Don't blame Marshall just because you think he's a problem.  The article clearly says Vontae was the instigator.  You just want to blame Marshall to make it look like you're right for disliking him.

Be objective sometimes.

I am objective. Every little petty story around this franchise these days has Marshall's name involved in it. Gonna get thrown out of a game, got stabbed and lied to police, the police hand me a subpoena and I rip it up in front of them and throw it on the ground, now this. I know I know, nothing is ever his fault. He's just a good guy who is misunderstood and has the worst case of bad luck ever!

P.S...the article CLEARLY states Marshall was the instigator. Maybe Vontae overreacted, who knows gotta wait for more info to come out. But instigator role in this was clearly Marshall.

Mike, you jump at the chance to kill Marshall EVERY chance you get. Everyone on the board knows it. If youre going to do that, at least have the balls to say, "Yeah I look for reasons to crush him because I dislike him." Don't hide from it and backpedal now. The article clearly did NOT say Marshall was the instigator:

"Davis had to be restrained after Marshall started "talking (trash) and crossed the line," a source with knowledge of the altercation said. The source would not provide specific details of what set off Davis.

"Vontae was about to rip his head off," the source said."

Now talking trash makes Marshall the guilty party? Sounds like Vontae is the one who can't keep his cool.

The news breaks, Marshall is in the middle of some "DRAMA".....again. I comment on it. Sorry.

I know in your mind Brandon Marshall can do no wrong, is just the unluckiest guy in the world, and in a Dennis the Menace fashion just always finds himself in a bit of trouble that isn't his fault.

Every week now a stupid story comes out where Brandon Marshall is in the center of it. And NONE of it has anything to do with his play on the field. Which by the way has been terrible this year.

The man was a clown in Denver and the cause of a ton of distractions. And its been the same in Miami. It doesn't change with him. He is lying to police and getting stabbed, or lying to police about it and ripping up subpoenas in court room hallways, or saying he will punch players in the face and plans on getting ejected, or throwing the coaches and their gameplan under the bus in Sporting News, or now starting a fight with a teammate in the locker-room. WHEN DOES IT END!?!?!!  At what point does the "BRANDON MARSHALL SHOW" where he causes trouble and brings stupid attention to himself end. When is enough, enough? We can go 0-16 with or without him. It isn't like he is playing so scary good that this team will fall apart if he isn't there.

But I know, Brandon is a good guy. Buys girl scout cookies and helps old ladies cross the street. He does no wrong, TIME man of the year.  blah blah blah.

P.S...also lets blame Vonate who since day 1 in NFL has had a clean slate and done really nothing off the field or on the field to damage this team. Let's blame him and not the guy with the rap sheet that goes from here to China. Yeah, thats what should be done.  Roll Eyes

P.S.S....Marshall started trash talking and crossed the line....if that doesn't make him the instigator. Then we have different understandings of what the word "instigator" means. Just sayin

This incident is eerily similar to the Keith Traylor incident in 2007.  Come to think of it, this entire season is eerily similar to 2007.

but a separate team source adamantly denied the claim, adding that Davis "knows exactly" why he didn't make the trip.

The plot thickens.Sounds like a fight with Tony.

Vonate was rehabbing his hamstring with his personal trainer as well as with team trainers and doctors. He was told to stop with the personal trainer, which from reports he did.  That may be the reason he was left home and not the fight.

The Miami Dolphins have their reasons for sidelining cornerback Vontae Davis for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and they are saying publicly that it isn't because his hamstring is too injured for him to play.

Are you saying because he complied they left him home or there was friction between him and Tony over cutting his personal trainer?

I'm saying it might be a slap on the wrist. Lets be honest does it matter if he plays or not. The season is over. Might be a "sending a message" to the rest of the team deal. Follow the rules or else. Phil Merling hasn't played in a month, he isn't injured. Just one of those things where even though they are losing every week the coaches want to show they are still in control.

Which I get. I would understand the coaches position.

Clearly we do. Instigator is not someone who talks smack; everyone in the game talks smack. Instigator is the person too childish to keep it at a verbal level and tries to settle an issue physically. Odd, that you have so much venom for Marshall, but Vontae is the one who lost his cool and crossed a physical line. Go to your job some time, talk a bunch of smack to a coworker, insult his wife and his sister, dredge up his skeletons, and when he becomes physical with you, guess who is getting charged with assault? Letter of the law, Vontae lost his cool, not Marshall.

For the record, I will say it yet AGAIN, as you seem too dense to get it (uh, oh...I made a bad comment....am I an INSTIGATOR???) I don't think Marshall is perfect or in any way some kind of savior for the franchise. I also don't think that every loss we have- or ANY loss for that matter- can be blamed on any one player, let alone our most productive receiver. When Henne was under center, you lambasted him for EVERYTHING. When he went out, Marshall becaome your target. It's absurd. There's 53 men on the roster, but you seem to think Brandon is the cause of 0-7. It's psychotic to think in such extremes. -EK

PS- the "get thrown out game?" Yeah....real detrimental to the team; not only did he NOT get thrown out, but he had his second best game of the season, against Revis no less.

Never said Brandon is the cause of 0-7. Nice way to deflect though and change the entire argument. Once you can't win the argument you are in.

Brandon was the instigator that is clear. If you go to work and talk a bunch of smack as you say, insult his wife and sister, guess what you get fired. The other guy might hit you and get assault charges, but if you start the fight  with your words, you get fired!

No at any job I've ever been in. HR doesn't fire over something like that. They DO, however, fire people over assault. Stop the nonsense. Just be a man and admit you scour the net all day looking for things to hold against Marshall for reasons known only to you. No one else starts these kinds of topics. Only YOU do. Don't cower and backpedal now. -EK
