No at any job I've ever been in. HR doesn't fire over something like that. They DO, however, fire people over assault. Stop the nonsense. Just be a man and admit you scour the net all day looking for things to hold against Marshall for reasons known only to you. No one else starts these kinds of topics. Only YOU do. Don't cower and backpedal now. -EK

cower and backpedal? What the hell are you talking about? This is a big dolphins news story all over ESPN, every Miami newspaper, CBS, PFT/NBC...etc. This is a Dolphins message board where we talk about Dolphins news and such.

And I don't know at what  backwards jobs you have held. But if you walk into work, talk smack, start talking bad about someones wife and sister and such, and bring up every skeleton in his closet and you don't get in trouble.  Well that probably isn't much of a job or company to begin with with a minimum wage ceiling as a pay scale. Any real company that is a real business that stuff wouldn't be tolerated for a minute. Of course people get fired over assault against a co-worker. Just as they would get fired if they walk into work and start ranting like a lunatic against a co-worker in front of the whole office/company.

You are dead wrong there.  HR can and will fire someone for making comments like that.  It's called harassment and creating a hostile work environment.  I've seen it happen to colleagues many times.

I'm not talking about harrassment. I'm talking about people having disagreements, arguments, or shouting at work. It happens in every office, every day. No one gets fired over it. Causing a physical issue will get you fired. Starting a fist fight anywhere in public will get you labeled as the instigator in a court of law, and you will be held accountable, not the person who is yapping away. I've sat on a jury with this EXACT issue at hand, and was instructed by the judge that verbal confrontation does not give anyone the right to physically assault someone, and it is immaterial what was said. By the accordance of the law, the person who actually swings, pushes, hits, kicks, or assaults FIRST is at fault.

And, no Mike, it isn't a big story. Go Google News "Brandon Marshall" and you get 3 hits. That's it, and 2 of them are blogs by sports writers. The reason it's "big" to you, is because you want it to be so you can further your crusade against Marshall. SHOCKER.  -EK

Jay Glazer of FOX reported earlier today that, when Marshall and Davis argued at practice, Marshall spiked a football off the head of Davis.

That's what started everything.

Also a report/rumor that some Dolphins staff members think Vontae came to practice one day last week with a hangover and that's why the Fins kept him in Miami this week.

Rumor confirmed.  Davis came to practice late and hung over.  Apparently he had been out with some teammates partying until the wee hours of the morning before an important practice.  Also, Brandon Marshall confronted Vontae Davis about his unprofessional behavior, which is what started the entire altercation.  I have to side with Marshall on this one.  He's trying to step up and be a leader and keep everyone focused, even while this season goes down in flames.  Vontae and his teammates that went out and partied like they did need to be ripped for failing to focus.

WTG Brandon.  That's awesome.

Yet another reason Vontae sucks.

True, but what does throwing a ball at the guys head prove. That's not how a leader acts.

Maybe Vontae said something to piss him off.  We don't know the whole story.  Regardless, when your team is 0-7 and you're more focused on partying and getting wasted than practicing and preparing, you will draw the ire of teammates/coaches.

This also may explain why Davis is having hamstring/cramping issues.

I think Brandon should throw a ball at Vontae's head every week... Evil

SO.....let's recap.
Marshall holds a teammate accountable for unprofessional, ridiculous behavior, and HE is starting drama. Nice. Mike hates him no matter what he does. Hey...hey.....hey- after he caught that TD, Mike, did you jump up and down, yelling, "Why didn't you catch it upside down with one hand and your eyes closed? God, you suck!" -EK

holding someone accountable and throwing a football off his head are 2 different things. Sorry. But we will never agree so why go in circles for 3 days over it. You are a jock sniffer when it comes to Marshall and defend him to the bitter end no matter what.

And if I suck you sure waste a lot of time responding to what I say. Get a life junior.

Who said you suck? Inferiority complex at work there, JUNIOR? The "God you suck" was part of what I asked you about yelling at Brandon. Reading comprehension an issue for ya, there? -EK

Really junior? That's the best you got, SON? It's SO old you popping off at the jaw all the damn time about the same freaking things. You infect almost every thread here with your one-sided opinions and if anyone contradicts you they HAVE to be wrong. Classic inferiority; too insecure about your own knowledge to even entertain anyone else's. -EK
