Yes, I am happy now.  The worst we can do is 1-15.  I would also like to point out that Andrew Luck is not the only QB in the draft, nor is he the only blue chip QB in the draft.

I was at work and when I saw the score, I started kicking things and cursing.

What scares me is if this team continues to play in this manner, wins about 5 or 6 games, and gets the 7th or 8th pick in the draft, which would not enable them to get any top tier QB.  While turning this season around would feel good, that is where the Pyrrhic Victory lies.

Hell yes I was happy.....I always want to see us win. There has never been any wavering on my part.....I want to win every Sunday no matter what. Yesterdays victory however was great as I know it means we will not go 0-16 and the team really showed some heart out there yesterday. It's nice to see that they players have enough pride not to roll over and die!!!!!

Andrew Luck is not a guarantee, despite what EVERYONE seems to think.  Andrew Luck may be a guarantee on some teams, but not on the Dolphins.  There are so many holes on this team that need to be filled that adding Tom Brady to this team wouldn't make them a contender.
The 2011 Indianapolis Colts would like to have a word with you.

It appears that ONE MAN made the difference between a perennial division winner/championship contender and literally the worst team in the league.  Given the incredible impact that Peyton Manning (or the lack thereof) has had on the Colts, it is difficult to then argue that Miami has "too many holes" to be solved by one person.

Right now, IND has a hell of a lot more holes than MIA does.  Add a healthy Manning and they are instantly back to division champions and in contention for a first-round bye.  NE has one of the worst defenses in the league, a nameless platoon at RB, one legitimate slot receiver... and Tom Brady.  And with all of those things, they are still contending to win the AFC.

^^ I dunno...there were a LOT of people picking Indy to go 8-8 and finish a distant second to the Texans this year, even BEFORE Manning went down. Side note- I just heard that Eli now has more wins at this point in his career than Peyton. I didn't see that coming. -EK

No it doesn't. Quit buying into the bullshit hype that the Dolphins absolutely have to lose every game now to be better in five years. You have a theory that one win today sacrifices a decade of wins. There is no fact behind it. Luck could be a bust. Luck could be a decent NFL QB, but Jones could be a star. Luck could be the #1 pick then get a career ending injury (not that I am wishing anything remotely like this at all).

A win today does not sacrifice a decade of wins. There is no evidence to support or contradict it. It is just a made up theory. I'm really disappointed that someone who tends to think as much as you do about most aspects of your life has fallen into this position. Yes a win today does lessen our chances of getting the #1 pick this year. No, it doesn't prevent us from winning for decades.

Adding the truth behind the matter. What will prevent us from winning for decades is ineptitude of the front office.

Well said! The innept management is going to cost us more wins over the next 10 years than a win against a bad KC team. Going 0-16 doesn't guarantee anything as well. Also there's more than one way to get better. Not every team went 0-16 before they got better.

And even the Lions didn't do it overnight. 0-16, then 2-14, 6-10, and now 6-2, although I could see them finishing 9-7 this year. My point is that they didn't go from 0-16 to 11-5 in one season. People forget how long ago that awful season was, methinks. -EK
