What if we end up 7-9 or 8-8?
What if Moore ends up turning a corner and is serviceable?
What if yesterday's use of Bush wasn't an anomoly, but the norm now?

I get that none of the above is likely to happen, but just what IF it did? How does it change your view and projection of next year? -EK

^^ Not much. Tony is still fired. Ireland is probably gone too. You still need a franchise QB.

The only thing that might change in my opinion is that some of the coaches, like Nolan might actually save their jobs.

Everyone has to go. Fans still won't go to games and this is a revenue business. Plus Matt Moore might be good enough to win 6,7, or 8 games but never much more. There is no future with more.

Still gotta clean house and fire everyone

With 7 or 8 wins I think everyone should be happy. Winning is the greatest. All the real fans will be happy. It'll be awesome. Keep Sparano and Ireland, Henne can come back and be the backup for Moore. Groovy times.

The Dolphins had a great win on Sunday. 31-3 on the road. Yay.

Let's put that into perspective:

Season Record: 1-7
Last 10: 1-9
Home Record: 1-13 (Since 2009)
Playoff Wins: 0 (in last 11 years)
Last 5 records: 1-7 (2011), 7-9 (2010), 7-9 (2009), 11-5 (2008), 1-15 (2007) [Total: 27-45 in last 5 years]

This team is still abysmal by all accounts. Winning 3-5 games will bump the W/L record b/w 4-12 and 6-10. This will still be a regression from last season, and it will cover up things like bad QB play, bad coaching, bad 4th quarter / 2:00 minute drill situational play.

This isn't a knock on the Dolphins or me trying to "stir the pot" (you hearing this, whichever one of you keeps saying that?). This is the reality of the situation. Even if they do win 3-5 more games this year, you still have to make some major changes - you can't accept mediocrity as a standard for success, which is what going 4-12 or 6-10 will be as a message if you keep everyone (players and personnel) after this season.

I agree with everything that's said here.

Yes it was a great win.  I was so jacked up watching this game because it looked like domination.  This was a sign of what could have been if it didn't take half the season for the defense to gel, and half the season to figure out how to properly use Reggie Bush.  The defense starting blitzing more and Bush was used more as a scat back.  Why did that take half the season to figure out?  That's bad coaching.  Don't say "Aw shucks, We forgive you Tony, come back next year" because they finally figured out what everyone's been saying all year.  So to answer the original question, it changes nothing.  Idc if Miami wins out. New Coach, New General Manager, New Quarterback, New Attitude.

If the Dolphins can get to 8-8 or 7-9 based on Moore having a 100+ passer rating in each of those wins, then you don't draft a QB, you keep Moore.  If the Dolphins get to 7-9 based on Bush having 150+ yard games well then Moore goes.

Either way the coach is gone.

You still draft a QB, you just have a nice QB competition so you're not throwing the rookie to the wolves.
