Not likely, particularly the Colts.

But neither has been mathematically eliminated.  It is mathematically impossible for the Colts to go higher than the #6 seed.  Dolphins in theory could be the #1 seed.  Not very likely.  But no team is completely out of it.

That's hard to believe considering the best they could do with be 9-7. Would everyone have to be tied at 9-7? Smiley I'm talking about #1 seed.

Yeah, everyone would have to be 9-7 or worse.  Unlikely --- yes.  But not impossible in theory.

Yeah and I could hit Powerball, just as likely.

I didn't say likely.  Just possible.

In theory.....
A 6-10 team could be the #1 seed.
A 5-11 team could be the #2 seed
A 4-12 team could be the #3 seed. (but you could not be a wild card with that record)
A 3-13 team could be the #4 seed.
The worst record you can have and be a wildcard team is 5-11.  Well, actually you could get #6 seed with 4-11-1.

Conversely.....

A 16-0 team could be the #2 seed.
A 15-1 team could be the #5 seed.
A 14-2 team could miss the playoffs.

So you're saying you've actually checked this or someone has or it's just theory? I mean actually said if so and so loses this game, then so and so wins and that would make their record so and so and did that for every team for the remainder of the year and it's possible for everyone to be 9-7 or worse? I find that a bit hard to believe, but I'll take someone's word for it if they say they've actually done that with everyones schedule.

One possible way...there are others:

Dolphins go 9-7

Indy wins all remaining AFC games, NFC irrelevent.
Browns - lose cards, jax
Jax - lose bucs, atl, win rest
kc - lose GB, bears, denver win rest
denver lose vikings, bears, sd win rest
sd lose lions bears jax win rest
titans lose atl, bucs, no, colts, jax
bills lose fins, tenn, sd, dolphins, denver
jets lose all
cinic lose rams, cards, ravens x 2, texans
ravens  lose 49rs, browns x2, colts, sd
oakland lose all
nep lose all
steelers lose kc, bengals, browns x2, 49rs, rams
texans lose all but cinic

that will get each team to have record of 8-8 or less.  but in fact that could occur even if the jets, pats, or oakland didn't lose all. Bills could win one and still lose to mia on tie breakers, etc.   I just started with teams with bad records gave them all loses for nfc and as many afc wins as i could and kept going.

It only took a grand total of about 5 mins and most of that was spent typing.

Update:

The Colts can NOT make the playoffs (same deal with Rams and Vikings)

The Dolphins can not get a first round bye.  The highest they can go is the #3 seed.

Dolphins can no longer win the division.  Best they can do it a wildcard spot.  Colts, Rams & Vikings are the only teams truely out of it.

Your season ends if....

Bengals beat the Texans

- OR  -

Eagles beat the Dolphins, AND
Jets beat the Chiefs or Titans beat the Saints or Broncos beat the Bears
