The Jags should consider making Bobby Brown their new head coach.  At least Brown has beaten Houston a few times.

A Pakistani native just bought the team.  Is anyone but me interested in how this will work out? I mean, Jacksonville is south Georgia. I know it's not right but I'm concerned this will not go over as well as a Muslim coaching in Tampa. I know it shouldn't matter but I'm thinking it just might.

I think that this news is very relevant to the Dolphins.

Basically, there are a few coaches that teams are going to try to get the jump on, like Cowher, Gruden, etc.  Miami can't negotiate with a coach on the payroll, especially because of what went down trying to get Harbaugh on board.  You might see Miami make a move sooner than later.

Didn't Del Rio play for the Dolphins at one point?

he was for his last season, a rookie Zach Thomas beat him for the starting spot and he thus retired.

if memory serves me correct he didn't make it through training camp. Was one of the final cuts once Zach beat him out. But don't hold me to that it was a while ago

He wasn't one of the final cuts.  He got cut after the first preseason game.  He made some good plays, but he only had three tackles in the game and Zach had 8.  Most coaches would've played it safe and kept Del Rio around to mentor Zach.  Not the case with JJ.  He cut Del Rio and promoted Zach.  We all know what happened after.

Typical "southerner" response (not you specifically but that sentiment). Who gives a shit? On both accounts?

I guess if they do have a problem with it, I'm sure he'll have no problems moving the team to L.A.

I heard some sports reporters saying that the NFL is going to love this guy.  He's supposedly more of a fan on the NFL than any of the other 31 owners.

The real question: Do they move the team?

At this point he guaranteed he wouldn't move the team. Is having a "fan" really good for a team? I mean, in the case of Ross I think that has really worked against him.

jtex ... it is a southerner response.  That's what I was referring to.  Jacksonville is about as southern a big town as I can think of.

I've never heard Ross being accused as too big a fan. If anything, he has been called too much a business man.

^ Yeah, me too.

The knock on Ross is that he doesn't know enough about the game, and only knows about running a traditional business.
